I got Green Goblin in today. The figure is without a doubt the best Mezco figure I have owned. I love pretty much everything about it. My only real nitpick is that the boosters on the glider feel like they wobble too much and the figure might fall without some extra support when displayed on it. Also, it's difficult to get him in a really deep crouch on the glider. It's not a complaint, but I have no idea why the purse/pouch thing has a wired strap. I can't see any reason I will need that.
I definitely want a second one or at least a second body to display unmasked.
Posted this in Mafex thread by mistake. Moving here 🙂
Green Goblin might possibly be my favorite all time figure. The love that went into it is so apparent. He jumped right out of a classic Amazing Spider-Man comic book. This is my first Mezco figure and I am afraid of how much I like it. I think it can mesh with Legends unlike the F4 where the styling difference is more obvious.
Wow that classic Ghost Rider. Very cool and I'm not a particularly big Ghost Rider fan.
BBTS exclusive, $250:
That's my favorite coloring for Ghost rider, and the red bike is my favorite version. It's essentially a perfect Mezco style Ghost Rider.
And then the price jumps out of the closet in the middle of the night and smacks you with reality.
I have the original one. The figure was great (though could've been easily improved with some spikes) but I really didn't like the bike and posing the figure well on it seemed impossible.
I really like the look of this one but not enough to double dip at $250. I'm happy they're doing variants again.
That Ghost Rider is intriguing, but I'd be terrified of the pleather deteriorating, especially at that price.
That's a great Ghost Rider, in my favorite look for the character, but I just can't justify dropping $250 for him. Looking forward to seeing pictures & reviews of him!
That Ghost Rider looks so nice! I had no interest in the original and I don't care for the character, but I for some reason love it. I won't buy one, but I can still have fun looking at the pictures eventually.
I ended up getting a second Green Goblin plus an extra body to just display unmasked. I wanted to display him both ways plus have an extra to mess around with without worrying about ruining the costume. I probably spent too much money on him, but I really don't regret it at all.
I hate the baggy jump suit with a passion, but I really, really like that head sclupt and the motorcycle is gorgeous. Those two things aren't worth $250 to me - but they really are nice. If I could buy just the cycle and the head for $150 or so I'd be in.
Mile Morales (Across the Spider-Verse) now up for pre-order
I'm guessing those two sets of tentacles hook into each other. Are we just left to assume the tentacles are bendy-wire? I don't see mention of it in the promo pics.
Is it just me or is he not chubby enough and has a GIANT head? If he had a much larger, fatter body the head wouldn't look so big, but on the small body he reminds me of the exaggerated head proportions of a bobble-head.
Proportions look good to me. I did eventually cave on Goblin, so I can't say for sure that I'll skip this one. I just think Mezco has let the pendulum swing too far in favor of faithful classic looks. I might be in the minority, but I liked some of the Mezco flair they used to apply. Sometimes they went overboard, but it looks pretty passable on most of the figures I have. These just look a little too Mego for the price of like ten Mego figures.
