That Magneto seriously does look like the comic page somehow morphed into 3D.  I don't know how I feel about these, but am glad they exist.  I can see myself getting Deadpool and Spidey from Wave 1 and Venom from Wave 2.  Not sure about building out X-Men 1....

Saw Deadpool and the non-autograph version of Spidey at Target this week and didn't bite on either. I think I will get the other version of Spidey because that pose is so iconic and he'll look really dynamic on my shelf, since no Hasbro toy can do that. But need to know if he will have weird holes anywhere, or if the webs would work for that.

The Spidey I saw felt a bit small, like how all the McFarlane Movie Maniacs are a slightly-too-small scale.

Right after going to see Deadpool and Wolverine, the mall across from the theatre had a Target in it so I immediately went to check both there and Walmart to see if these had started showing up yet, cause I seen other areas were already getting them.

I ended up just ordering Deadpool off the Walmart site. Says he should be here next Monday, which I found odd because most other online retailers aren't shipping these until September.

I was going to get into the statues but had to come to realization I don't have the space. The space where I would keep statues has McFarlane's movie Batmobiles in those spaces. It's those times when you have to realize you can't collect it all.

The ones I saw at Target so far (Spider-Man, Deadpool) looked tiny and junky -  but I've never been an enormous fan of the art those two are based on by McFarlane and Liefeld.     That Magneto is 100% must have.   I'll need to see the wolverine in person to decide, but the only other one I've considered is the Iron Man.    If I see that one on a store shelf, I'll probably pick it up.     The Magneto, though,  that one looks great.

How come the McFarlane Spidey has issue 302 as its card and side panel when it's from 301 - which is on the back of the box?

Weird.

Also - wait - these are coming in two scales? And the classic 301 Spidey is 1:6 and not 1:10, which is a Spidey in a less dynamic yet similar pose?

Frickin' Todd.

I’m tempted. At $30 a pop they could pretty much manage to sell me everybody on that Jim Lee X-Men #1 cover….but Wolverine’s texture is so off-putting they sort of struck out immediately. If the backdrop had been a 1:10 build-an-iceslide I’d be pretty much in.

Magneto’s looking great though. Him and Deadpool might be my only pickups unless they offer that 1:6 Spidey at the 1:10 scale.

Maybe it’s crappy of me, but by far my biggest hesitation comes from when I ordered that White Knight Batmobile and they included a freebie busted box National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation Clark Griswold Movie Maniacs statue. It was a nice little bonus, but the thing was such trash quality and I can’t believe they were trying to sell it for $25. I’m praying these are a little nicer.

If anyone ends up grabbing any of these, I ask to post some comparison pics with MS or McF.

I preordered the Wolverine, if it looks like crap I'll just return it.  I'm open to building the X-Men #1 cover provided the plastic statues look good, however McFarlane's cel shading styled paints tend to be hit or miss.  So Wolverine is gonna be the test subject on whether I bother with the others.

As for Movie Maniacs the only ones I'd really want would be Harry and Lloyd from Dumb and Dumber and maybe Ernest P. Worrell.  I guess some sort of Pauly Shore would be fun, but even then I think these would all be better as NECA figures.

Thanks to Boy Wonder, I got my hands on Deadpool today.  I honestly really like this.  I've always wanted something to capture that FA look.  And thankfully, they're lightly glued onto pegs in the base.  So I was able to pop him off pretty easily to display him on a regular disc stand instead.

Can anyone tell me, please if the regular 7" Spidey's pole is easily removable from his back? Or is it stuck in permanently? Has anyone set him among ML and see if he blends in size-wise? That extreme crouch I feel like he will.

I would never buy these, because I dont want a repeat of what McFarlane did to the concept of figures in the early 2000’s.

Even though I would never buy them, I dont understand why the figures aren’t in scale with other major toy lines. These statues could serve as in scale centerpieces for figure displays, and the cross compatibility might have brought more marvel legends collectors on-board.

Them not being in scale with MS or MLs is likely part of the deal. The smaller 1/10 scale statues could work with MS figures, if you found the right one to pair them with.

@salemcrow I didn’t even think of that. Good point. If that’s the case, then I rescind my comment.

Scoured some YouTube reviews (ugh) for the answer: the pole is not removable in the smaller Spider-Man statue. Booooo.

Back to the store he'll eventually go.

Unless - does anyone have this guy in their Legends display and see if he looks good? Maybe the pole is worth it if he does.
