Marvelously Statuesque

Figured this statue topic could use a restart as well!

DST just announced:

I was sooooo going to limit myself to just the main nine, Phoenix, and then Mags, Sabretooth, Mystique and Sinister.

But NOW... Apocalypse looks great, Mystique looks great and Psylocke doesn't have the weird legs of her animated counterpart to distract! 🙂 And her hair sculpt is pretty.

Anyone else excited for this continuing bust line? Or any other recent statuesque purchases?

I don't have the room for statues and figures, and figures win out.  I do love looking at them in other people's collections though.

I miss Randy Bowen's line of busts -  though I don't miss the exceedingly rare exclusivity of some of the later releases.    I currently own 112 Bowen busts  -  with about 20 Diamond Select busts sprinkled in.

There are at least 20 more Bowen's I want but have to be patient to acquire them.

I also own 8 full statues of the Black Panther as well as 3 full statues of X-Men (Cyclops and Jean X-Men 137 cover;  Wolverine X-Men 133 cover statue;  Nightcrawler bamf statue)

I am not terribly interested in the animated versions of the X-Men being released as busts.   I do keep my eye on the choices being made for Marvel Select busts but have been very selective about what gets added since real estate is limited.

There are a ton of gorgeous statues out there but they take up a ton of space relative to figures and space is at a premium.

Missed when these were first announced, but there’s gonna be Gamerverse statues of Wolverine and Spider-Man from Marvel vs. Capcom.

I get ALL of the Diamond X-Men The Animated Series busts! They're gorgeous, study, and look great on the shelf. Even characters that don't deserve statues like Psylocke and Deadpool (they had SO FEW appearances) look awesome with the others. Here's to seeing the line continue with Colossus, Mr. Sinister, Archangel and The Brotherhood!

Has any statue/bust maker ever had a go at the Supreme Intelligence? I'm coming from a place of using it for my ML collection because obviously it wouldn't need any articulation, and I can see a higher-end product nailing the lights, water effect, etc. Diamond's recent MODOK statue had me thinking of it - I would easily drop $80 (or more) for a Supreme Intelligence done that well.

Statues are something I don't typically get anymore (I have a bunch of Thor stuff from decades back), but a couple I do regret not buying are those Gladiator statues from Bowen and Hard Hero. Those always looked so nice.

@h-bird I'd be down for a Gallery Supreme Intelligence for sure.

Randomly found out these were almost a thing:

These sculpts are gorgeous and the paint really shows off the care that were in the actual costumes. The shiny metallic paint Hasbro went with really didn't do these gorgeous outfits justice.

I don't think Iron Studios ever released any of these, which is a bummer because they are so, so pretty. Not that I would buy them, but I wish Hasbro had done more flowing robes so their legs weren't all so locked up.

Anyway, the McFarlane statue thread got me reminiscing. 🙂 Anyone added any good statues lately? The new sideshow Rogue/Gambit is another beautiful one.
