Archangel looks outstanding. A thigh cut away from perfection.

I noticed that there's no waist cut either. Hopefully the diaphragm has really good range to make up for it. If not, that could be a pretty big loss.

I'm guessing the new neck joint was added so he can look up and down better when in flying poses.

Wait, so the unmasked head for Archangel is what he’s packaged with, and the cowled head is still just a possibility of being included? That’s a weird choice. I’d have imagined the cowl head to be standard.

I think Cap looks like a big improvement over the initial photos we’ve seen, and a massive improvement over the classic one with the Cassaday head sculpt. Looks like it could pose well too. I don’t see any major issues with it yet.

I'm guessing he meant the Death masked head, not the standard.

Agreed. It's not perfect, but I'm starting to like it. The arms are just a little too long, but it won't be noticeable in any sort of action pose. As for the legs, I think that's a stylistic choice to match old comic art rather than a mistake. I totally get it if it isn't someone's preference, but I don't think it's an objective mark against the figure.

One thing I'll say is that the eyes look a little far apart on the unmasked head, which is a shame because I LOVE that second torso with the cowl pulled down. However, I've really only seen it from an angle, so I'd love to see a closeup of it straight on so I can reassess.

Archangel looks great- not my favorite iteration of ol' Warren, but will definitely be a day one PO. Looking forward to seeing the revised Cap. Already POed based on MSWord's previous posts about the improvements. Good time to be a Marvel Select collector!

Oh, I actually just found one. Yeah, the eyes are definitely a bit far apart. That's sad.

I'm kinda surprised they went with the whole upper torso being swappable. Unless that's just the prototype looking that way. I feel like they could save some $$ if they just use a removable downed cowl, removable shield straps. I do hope those things still wind up being included in the final, along with that pouch belt for a more modern looking Cap. I like that Golden Age head/neck and shield included as well. Really looking forward to this one.

Looking at Archangel some more, he's just a little too buff for how I picture the character. I'm sure he's been depicted with that kind of bulk, but I always thought he should be more lithe.

Cowled head and uncowled head are included. Death mask may not.

I believe this is a production sample of Cap, but the paint may need to be revised, that may fix some of the unmasked eye problem. I believe the folded-down cowl is a separate piece, so it can be used with the existing torso (second torso is just for display, as far as I know). I wish I was there to pose him dynamically, because I don't think there would be any complaints about thinness of calves or length of arms or size of shield.

Thanks msword (and hmmberto) for the clarification. I don't think a lack or surplus of heads for Archangel would be a dealbreaker. I'm getting that figure no matter what, and he looks like he could really be a centerpiece for a Select X-Men display. Cap is also a definite purchase, probably multiple purchase based on how many distinct looks are possible. Definitely one to display classic, one to display as Golden Age with Human Torch, and of course NAMOR once MS finally makes him!

I'm gonna make a horrific abomination out of Sandman's legs, Mr. Fantastic's abs, Cap's chest, and Loki's arms. Who should contribute their spare head?

Edit: I guess the extra chest is just for display. My dream of becoming the Marvel Select Dr. Frankenstein has been killed.

Please include the Death mask - and folded wings! I'd buy multiples just to display these different looks.

To respond to NORM's point about him being too buff, I don't mind that for Archangel, and I think this sculpt strikes a good balance. In his regular Angel form (and considering what a great job your team did here, I sure hope we see a Select Angel down the line, too), I agree he should be more lithe.

I hope you round out the whole original X-Factor team! Would be an amazing display with your wonderful Apocalypse.

I'd love it if you guys could release a black/silver variant of Archangel for that X-Force/Apocalypse look.

I think Select figures look a lot better now than they did a few years ago, so they've definitely improved a lot.  But I have a TON of 6 inch scale Marvel figures already, so getting 7 inch scale versions of a character just doesn't make sense unless it's a larger character like Apocalypse or Juggernaut.

But I would love for them to re-do a comic Magneto figure.  Their last version was fine at the time, but it hasn't aged well.  I wouldn't mix him with my 6 inch scale figures, he'd be too big for that.  But since Magneto's my favorite character, I would display a 7 inch scale figure of him separately on it's own in a separate room from my Legends collection.  I was thinking of doing that with the Mondo cartoon version, but that's 12 inch scale, so it's way too big (and expensive).

That archangel looks great. Natural progression from torso to legs (vs cap, say), great looking heads (love the death one), neck joint at the torso too (LOVE this from a range of movement pov) and double limbs. Would I prefer a (ideally ball) waist as well? Very much. But still excited for ‘im. Glad I held on to apocalypse!

@handsome heck yeah to a better Magneto. His costume is one that I think suits a selects style approach rather than ML - hard to make it look interesting on a ‘standard body.’ Having said that, I’ve been spoiled by mcfarlane and jada’s lightweight plastics for capes. I think I’d struggle to go back to a backheavy old school one.
