I was lucky enough to get an order in yesterday before they took them off the site.  I just kept refreshing for a while and was able to order.  I hope it doesn't get cancelled.

From the Mego Museum:

Paul Clarke posted this on the Mego Ambassador page this afternoon, 12/23. It includes a response from Disney, and his own thoughts.

- Response from Disney:
"The website had overwhelming demand during the launch which had caused some issues with the website, so all units have been secured that are available through Disney Store and no more will be released at this time. Fans are still able to shop the set in Downtown Disney and Disney Springs or will need to wait until our next launch in 2025."

Apparently some customers were able to order and will receive their sets. Personally, I was never able to get one - it always said "sold out" or the pre-order could not go into the shopping cart.
Hopefully they will be open to making more Spider-Man sets in 2025, but as we have said, the decision is ultimately Disney/Marvel. -

What a weenie response!

Disney with the tone deaf "Get them at our parks or stores"

Mego "It's out of our hands"

Not cool!

I've never liked doing business with Disney's website and this just confirms how crummy it is to deal with them.  I guess Mego fans won't find it easy to secure these at all.

I'm beginning to think that the orders cancelled were the ones that used the coupon and had nothing to do with the "orders made after the first minute".  There seemed to be no website issues in that first minute. No significant website slowdown or anything.

I hope that they learn from this and make the next set easier to get.  Maybe put up more of this one too.  I'm so sick of trying to get exclusive toys.

I hate it when Disney does this type of thing. They allocate more of a product for the theme parks but sell very few of them there. I'm fairly confident stating that they would sell more online than in the parks. However, for whatever reason, they feel the need to have them sitting on shelves in the park stores for a long time before they start trying to clearance them out.

@puckace

Ever since The Disney Store screwed me out of the Marvel Legends X-Force 3-Pack they offered in 2022, even though I had it pre-ordered, still sticks in my craw. The fact that the Disney Store was announced as an official partner for this release, on a Marvel Legends livestream, made it even worse. I was never able to secure one.

Now this fiasco with the Marvel Megos, EVEN THOUGH, they, Disney, told them they would have access to the online market. Those of us without direct access to Florida or California are screwed. So very frustrated.

@stjjames

Yup.

It's a great set.  Unfortunately, it's being handled by Disney.  They have obviously prioritized having these in their parks and really shafted those who have to go through their online website.  I hope they do a 180 with their future sets in 2025.

Oh and FYI there is no PM function on the Fwoosh anymore. 🙁

@tru48082

And you have every right to be frustrated.  Disney has totally hosed the Mego community who can't make it to one of the parks.

I loathe the Disney website.  They bite.

Are these plentiful in the parks?  I might be going to Disney Springs next week.

I don't live in the Los Angeles area.  Not sure if they still are plentiful.  But they are in the Marvel shop at the California Adventure Park and I think they opened a new Marvel store in Downtown Disney.  I'm sure they are in the same kind of shops in Florida.  If you go, I'd definitely check it out.  The limit was 2 sets when they came out.

Has anyone outside the US been able to get these? I'm in the UK and can't seem to find anyone selling them (even on the Disney Store UK's site!)

Kinda glad I was unaware of all of this until now - blood pressure doesn’t need any more collecting frustration shite.
