I love that little ground smash effect.  Currently have it in my Dungeons and Dragons animated display with Bobby hitting the ground with his club and ruining Venger's day.

I feel like the Maximum accessories are kinda just an excuse to upcharge on the figures.  New sculpt figures?  Sure, they should be doing this more anyway.  Especially on A-listers who have potential repaints baked in.  The accessory upcharge is basically Super 7's Ultimates business model.

If/when they ever get around to making a new Captain America, they better put torso articulation in at the edge of his chainmail.  It's a natural point to hide articulation, but they just keep missing that opportunity.

And yeah...waist swivels suck.  So archaic.  I hate the waist overhang they create once the figure is turned at the waist.  Just looks terrible.  A ball at the ribcage and a ball at the waist is ideal.

Heads would explode if you so much as suggested giving a Super7 figure double-jointed elbows.

Do you guys think soft goods capes are on the table? Would you want them? Who knows if Hasbro can come close to the quality of a good customized cape, it's tough for even the best companies, but I'd like them to take a stab at it.  One of my concerns would be staining. I have a 12" Thor whose arms are stained red.

Kailryu's comment about Kaine in the Retro Card thread inspired the post.

I do think that they will tend to likely show up more often in the line, yes. Do I personally want them? Absolutely not.

I don't like soft goods because I don't personally have closed displays and I've found soft goods to be dust magnets and they don't tend to survive washing. I've been told that "mini lint rollers" work wonders, but I've never even seen these (nor have I really looked). I haven't run into the "staining" issue but that's all the more reason to avoid them in my opinion.

There are cases when it makes sense to include soft goods, especially for characters that may need to sit on a vehicle or on a throne (for example), but it shouldn't become a standard, in my opinion.

I see a villain next year with Green Goblin

Classic Green Goblin, Romita head, glass lens Ross head & Norman head. Proper bat cycle with clear stand, detachable plume of smoke, pumpkin griping hands, fists, open hands, one hand with sparking finger. 3 pumpkin bombs, boots fixed to actually be on model. New pinless scale mail body

I only want softgoods if they are quality fabric and wired. I do NOT want anything like what Mattel does with Masterverse. That flimsy little fabric rolls up on the edges and doesn't look good, as much as I love their Masterverse figures otherwise

No to soft goods unless they are 2nd options. Yes to the softer plastics for capes ala ML and DCU of old.

I don't know how you open-air collectors do it. Even glass cabinets generate more dust than I'd like.

I audibly moaned. I love the plume of smoke idea. It'd be cool if they could incorporate into the stand so it doesn't look like the glider is on a pair of stilts or clear stand.

If they're going to make that amazing-sounding Green Goblin please announce it now so I stop eyeballing the Mezco GG every other day or so. Really don't need to drop the money for that thing.

I am a total convert to cloth goods on figures after years of resisting and preferring the plastic. A quality wired cloth cape is such a huge upgrade to the figures I've put them on (Moon Knight and Cloak are my two favorites so far) and I've bought some wired coats, etc. that I really like. If they can make them right I'd be very excited to see wired cloth goods show up in ML.

Here are Renew Your Vows Spidey, Amazing Fantasy 15 Spidey, animated Spidey from the 2-pack with animated Vulture, and Mafex Classic Spidey in the closest poses I could get to the equivalent McFarlane Spider-Man #1 pose that Hasbro included in the promo images for Maximum Spidey.

Thanks, EC. I thought I was waiting for the RYV Spidey to be released to see if I could upgrade my Retro Spidey. Then this one came along and just looked the same.

I love soft goods, but not just any soft goods.  Like anything else, there's crap, there's so-so, and there's great.  The best ones I have are third party and Mafex, and if we're paying the price we're going to be paying for these mythical future Maximum figure with mythical soft goods capes I'd want something to that quality.  The ones McFarlane does aren't AS good but for the price point they are actually pretty serviceable.  The worst are the ones with no wires made of a pleathery material that curl up at the edges.

Not sure I need an expensive Green Goblin.  There are many characters out there that I feel already have figure that could very well be the final word on that particular character and Green Goblin is one of them.  Surprisingly, it's the A-listers, the figures that they already make dozens and dozens of versions, that you could probably get me to spend more on, and there are a finite number of such characters.  That's why I guess I'm not so worried about this $50 line.  I'll just cherry pick.......like I do everything else.

What we really need is a Marvel Legends MINIMUM SERIES.  Just the Spider-Man figure with no extra accessories whatsoever for $14.99.  I mean, do we really need more accessories?  Accessories are a PITA…unless you’re a cat.   My cats LOVE accessories.

I think this line exists, but they're 12" figures with five points of articulation.
