Just want to add that Ebon Moss Bachrach also gave Marvel the most accurate depiction of a pre-COVID fully-remote contractor fashion template as Micro in the Punisher series. For such a distinctive looking actor, he really does transform from role to role, CGI Thing aside, of course.

Moss Bacharach is a great choice for Ben.  Jewish heritage, blue eyes, plays broken and self hating REALLY well.  If he couldn’t do the voice he couldn’t do the voice. Can live with it. He might not have a 30s Lower East side accent but he’s got a NYC tinge to his voice.

I wanted Steve from Stranger Things for Johnny bc his ability to play the shallow popular kid who come thru in the end. Other Stranger Things kid should be fine. The “team up” for Spidey 4 should be Torch

I still adore the first two previous FOX Fantastic Four movies, and they'll remain my favorites, but this REALLY looks good. The retro 60s design and feel to everything hits me in all the right ways. They seem like they understand the characters really well, even if I just can't wrap my head around Pedro Pascual as Reed. I still only see Mando and Joel when I look at him.

I won't get any movie figures because it's not my thing, but I'll be eagerly hoping for some comic figures alongside them in any waves.

Is there any real doubt Natasha is playing Alicia Masters?  I mean, she's already played blind in Blade3 and everything.  Ain't no sense in thinking 60s Reed Richards would give his robot a woman's voice much less such a raspy one, imho.

Honestly, I've never read an FF comic, so I have no idea what gender the robot is. But I dunno... having someone who has played blind before, playing blind again is as imaginative to me as when they cast Patrick Stewart as Charles. Yeah maybe she's playing Alicia Masters, but comments she has made recently suggest it's just a voice role.

If she is playing Alicia as we suspect, it's kinda great and hilarious that Alicia turns out to be the gravelly voiced of the pair in this adaptation.

Oh my gosh, I forgot EMB played Micro in Punisher as well! He was also awesome in that. I think I will get used to his voice. He can certainly nail the frustrated self-loathing of the character, paired with the humorous deflection.

I think Pedro will do a great job as Reed. No doubt he can play aloof, distracted genius. What else could he bring to the character though? Condescending tone? Undying loyalty? Insecurity when dealing with "down to Earth" matters? I think Pedro can handle that.

I really hope out of this we see a deluxe comic Reed Richards with all kinds of stretchy accessories and stuff. Whether it is a plain old deluxe figure or one of the 3 2025 planned Maximum figures doesn't matter. I also hope it leads to more FF supporting cast and villains.

I dunno, according to this trailer (which, I've learned from the internet, shows everything from the movie in a minute and a half), Reed doesn't have powers.

The one wildcard for me is Vanessa Kirby. I've never watched anything she's been in, to my knowledge. She seemed to take a prominent role in the trailer, as Sue Storm should. I'm sure I'll fall in love with her.

I haven't seen anything with her either, but eh. She's got solid people to act against.

You know of many women named 'Herbert'?

But I dunno... having someone who has played blind before, playing blind again is as imaginative to me as when they cast Patrick Stewart as Charles.

Why is 'imaginative' of value when casting an actor?

And again, all this discussion should be taking place in the actual movie thread.  Maybe the reason the movie threads are dead is because participation in them is locked behind figure-specific forums.  Not every FF fan cares about Legends figures.

Have you seen the Mission Impossible movies? She has been in the last two or maybe three as a black market dealer. I liked her a lot in those.

I haven't seen them. Sounds like a good enough place to start. Thanks.
