Is Angel back in this red costume currently? Or a version of it?
As long as I've read X-Men, he seems to be the character that had the least consistently "defined" costume. As a fan of many decades I just accept him in whatever he shows up in because when he's gone, few if anyone on the team notices, and when he's around it never seems like it's for super long without another fashion overhaul.
That said, the figure is fantastic. Easily going on my Top 10 for the year with upscaled Sabretooth. Love that it's in a windowed box again. Back to buying two, because that's just where I am with this sickness.
Finally pick him up and man he is as great as everyone has been saying.
I paired him up next to my Archangel and I am glad to have them both even with the slight size differences.
I got my Angel and he's definitely amazing but, I don't know why everyone keeps suggesting to swap out his hands for Mr. Fantastic's.

Mine hit the PoL. Wolverine and Sabertooth may come soon so I think I'll wait for that, cause I know once I ship my PoL those will come out and have to sit there for a while. I hope they fix the hands on subsequent releases so he doesn't have the huge ones. BTW, looking at pics, I think the huge open hands come from whatever mold Avalanche is on. They look like the hands that came with Avalanche. I think the legs and arms are from the old Reaper body, but the torso for Avalanche looks new cause of the armor. And of course the boots and gloves.
Gotta be honest- I think Angel is really good but could have been better. Proportion and articulation are fine, but the white paint coverage is kinda bad towards the elbows and above the shins. Really disappointed they didn’t give it a second coat in those spots.
Also for $35 a blue head should have been included- the archangel figure head doesn’t look right on the new figure and is the wrong shade of blue (too dark).

I did this from the top of the staircase to my Super Powers Wonder Woman as like a four year old circa '92. Vividly recall that Lightyear-esque brief flight before she shattered in the entryway. Core memory. Be gentle with your toys.
So, have my second Angel and I'm fighting my impatience... do I just paint it blue right away now? Do I wait and see if Hasbro does a blue-painted re-release sooner rather than later? Do I instead go for an early X-Factor repaint? Do I go hideous graduation costume repaint? Do I just wait awhile and see which if any of those Hasbro sees fit to give me?
Decisions... decisions....
They're definitely making the blue costume. I imagine they'll give us a blue head with it, as well. The rest are less certain but I think they're happening, too.

I would not waste any effort repainting this Angel. They'll make all the variations. I hope blue comes next, then X-Factor, though I'm still fine with Archangel filling the X-Factor spot.
So, I honestly really love the Angel character - followed him when he floated from Champions to Defenders, to guesting in Dazzler and Marvel Two In One and back into Uncanny and finally back to X-Factor. When I was young I had created an entire pitch for an X-Men spin off comic that featured a new team of mutants based in the pacific northwest bankrolled by Warren - though he wouldn't have been an active team member (commitments to other X-books being what they were). But he was a recurring character struggling to emulate the Xavier-mentor role and getting it wrong as often as right...
Personally I don't need them to revisit the Archangel design - I'm fine with the versions I've got and I'm not someone that constantly needs the same character upgraded over and over and over again.
But for this Angel body and wings I would like to see in this order
Blue/White costume
Then, early X-Factor - pre Apocalypse transformation
Then the red/yellow/blue graduation costume
I have no desire for that graduation costume. I'm glad it didn't stick around!
