Basically for my own morbid curiosity, I was wondering are there any teams that you are completely happy with? So I mean the team has all the characters you feel are needed for that team, and that everybody has the right costume for the era you are portraying. Basically if this team was never in anyway ever addressed again you would be perfectly fine with that?
I'm content with the 1970s Champions. If they'd update 70s strappy sandals Hercules and do a 70s Widow with the big hair, zipper turtleneck catsuit on the new Widow body I'd be much happier, but the figures we have now are proudly on display in my man cave.
This is who is in my current display:
They really need Swarm to fight!
Great idea for a thread. It's always nice to appreciate what we already have.
I said this here recently: the Fantastic Four. I'd take updates of all four, but I'm happy enough with the Walgreens figures + the new-ish retro Torch.
I'm also good with Mystique's Brotherhood/Freedom Force. I'd buy an orange Spiral, but I don't need her.
Finally, as someone who hates Jim Lee's X-Men, can I say Jim Lee's X-Men?
I still would like an articulated Mystique and a true Mastermind to consider the Brotherhood done. Banshee away form feeling Cockrum / Bryne X-Men are done. Though would prob rebuy some with pinless.
‘90s X-Factor. Havok, Polaris, Multiple Man, Strong Guy. Wolfsbane, Quicksilver. Can add Random to that group, even Forge, Mystique, Sabretooth. Maybe still need Val Cooper, but I’m not twitching at her absence.
I am pretty content with my complete teams:
Fantastic Four---Not a huge FF guy but the Walgreens releases have all I need for adequate representation. Out of all the Things released in the past years, the Walgreens one is the best. You even get HERBE.
90's X-Factor---I didn't read past Peter David's run so Havoc, Polaris, Multiple Man, Strong Guy, Quicksilver, and Wolfsbane are my cut offs.
Jim Lee X-Men is done.
Avengers--No one else will say this, but I have a self-imposed limit because I want to display other things and they have made perfectly good versions of all the characters I need. Cap, Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, Black Widow, Hawkeye, Vision, Scarlet Witch, Ant Man, Wasp. Done.
Justice League--See Avengers explanation. Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Flash, Green Lantern, Green Arrow, Black Canary, Zatanna, Plastic Man. Done.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles--How many times over does the casual fan need to complete four turtles? Done.
Ghostbusters--How many times over does the casual fan need to complete four paranormal investigators and eliminators? Done.
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers--It's fine that Hasbro hates their own brand. The "Remastered" figures they squeezed out the door just before they punted their license away were pretty definitive (as long as you have a spare unhelmeted Jason head). Done.
The Dreadnoks--Done.
The ESB bounty hunters (we don't need their scum) Done.
Star Trek TOS (I'm talking 90's Playmates figures because no company currently playing the musical license game with ST will ever go as deep as that line did, so ST fans may as well accept it and display 90's Playmates with pride)--Kirk, Spock, Bones, Sulu, Uhura, Checkov, Scotty. Beam me up, I'm done here.
I consider the "New" Fantastic Four done. Wolvie and Fixit's outfits are a bit off, but livable for me.
I consider all these FF teams done:
I consider X-Men Blue and Gold, and X-Factor done from this shot (X-Force and Excalibur sooooo close too).
All good on this iteration of the X-Men:
All-New All-Different Avengers:
Cap's Kooky Quartet:
Avengers circa: Issue 4:
I consider Issue 1 done too:
Wasp makes other classic Avenger line-ups tough with her constant changes, but we can cobble together a decent early Perez iteration:
I'm good on the Sinister Six:
Wrecking Crew:
Admittedly, I'd take more members and re-dos in some cases. A handful of figures could add more to this list pretty easily.
@chooch555 very solid list!
The All-New All-Different Avengers is a team an under-appreciated team completion. I've still yet to read that run, but that group of characters just *looks* beautiful together. I think Nadia Wasp joined later in the run and I'd love to get a figure of her too.
All-New All-Different sort of lucked into completion, but I'll take it! And put me down for a Nadia. Fun character.
I'm pretty much satisfied with all of these.
The Defenders: (Original team) Dr. Strange, Silver Surfer, Hulk, Namor. (Extended classic team) Nighthawk, Hellcat, Valkyrie.
Fantastic Four: (both original costumes and negative zone costumes) Reed, Sue, Johnny, Ben.
The Avengers: (Original team) Gold Iron Man, Thor, Ant-Man/Giant-Man, Wasp, Hulk. (Second line-up) Captain America, Hawkeye, Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver. (Bronze-Age Classic team extended) Iron Man (classic red and gold armor) Beast, Wonder Man, Vision, Black Panther, Hercules, Ms. Marvel, Yellowjacket (I'm happy enough with the old one).
Avengers West Coast: Silver Centurian Iron Man / Neo Classic Iron Man, U.S. Agent, Scarlet Witch, Vision (all white), Tigra, Mockingbird, Wonder Man, Hank Pym.
Sinister Six: Doc Ock, Sandman, Vulture, Mysterio, Kraven, Electro.
The Champions: Hercules, Black Widow, Ghost Rider, Angel, Ice-Man, Darkstar.
The Wrecking Crew: Wrecker, Thunderball, Piledriver, Bulldozer (Yes, I'm happy enough with the old figures).
That's all I can think of off the top of my head.
Nothing is finished for me, but the Avengers are pretty close since I dont feel I need what’s left. To be honest, I only started buying the more obscure Avenger because Hasbro wasn’t making Xmen figure for a while. Now that that’s over, my purchasing has changed. I’d rather spend my money on a d-list mutant than a c-list Avenger.
However, I dont collect every team out there, so I cant say that I wouldn’t consider some teams done if I did collect them. Also, some teams already have the core members that look good enough for me to not rebuy a slight upgrade. For example, the core Fantastic Four that I already have are good enough for me. Same with the Squadron Supreme, even though I’d like an unmasked head sculpt for Hyperion.
On the other hand, there are teams I dont expect to ever get completed, so I’ve written them off as done. For example, Superior Foes of Spiderman were a team I wanted back in 2014-17. While I would have liked Overdrive, it’s been so long that I’m kinda over it.
I think that the only team I would consider being complete would be the Fantastic Four. Even then, I would ideally love to see a classic Kirby/Byrne/Perez Thing to call them complete.
Avengers is close but there's still several classic figures that I'm still waiting for: Swordsman, Mantis, classic red/white Falcon, any Perez Wonder Man...just to name a few.
The X-Men are close to being complete, too. All I need for the New X-Men is Banshee. I still want the OG team in yellow/black.
I could probably make a complete Champions team but I still want a classic Hercules with the leg bands.
I need a classic Valkyrie to complete the Defenders.
There's probably more but I can't think of them at the moment.
I probably consider classic SHIELD done (I know, Gabe Jones and Clay Quartermain, but if needed I can kitbash stand-ins); and honestly Hydra and AIM as well.
While not exactly a team, we have pretty good first appearance versions of the initial Marvel Comics Silver Age (first 5 years or so) - 1st Avengers team, 1st X-Men (the boxset, which is good enough for me), Spidey, DD, Hulk, classic Thor and Cap. I don't think we had a true Kirby looking FF but the Walgreens FF set in the baby blue is close enough.
We also need Val, for S.H.I.E.L.D. 🙂I probably consider classic SHIELD done (I know, Gabe Jones and Clay Quartermain, but if needed I can kitbash stand-ins); and honestly Hydra and AIM as well.

Man, Chooch has a picture of the Wrecking Crew. And that is a team I'd like Hasbro to make again. I didn't buy the 4 of them last time they were made, as I wasn't really back into Marvel Legends at that point.
I've thought of buying the 4 that have been released, but I always feel they look a little outdated and just wish Hasbro would make them again.
