I was tempted to keep Iron Patriot too. My style is classic with select modern additions to the ranks. He barely missed the cut and sold on eBay for $45 in one hour. I think its a well done figure and was so close to putting him on the Avengers villains shelf but I need to make room there for Kang's throne and more Iron Man villains some day hopefully.

I may be the odd one out but not a huge fan of the cloth cape on Doom. I see no real purpose unless he's being posed on a throne. At this scale cloth just falls funny and to me Doom's cloak should have some volume and presence. I do like the shorter skirt. I did a mix and match with the 1st classic Doom head and cloak. The clasps don't cover the holes on his chest perfectly but they come close.

They still need a proper classic Doom even after ... 3 attempts? That's the ML way!

While I plan to use the three-pack version as my shelf Doom for the foreseeable future, I'd snap up a classic version.

Really should be at a point where if they do deluxe versions of some of these heavy hitters they should have a plastic and a cloth cape. Especially these throne sitting types. Thought McFarlane's Batman 66 Batman and Robin would REALLY have benefited from such an approach.

I'm more concerned with their observation skills that they think they've done a classic Doom. Hopefully I'm wrong about that.

I'm guessing it would be frowned on if I got this set and returned it with the previous Doom, Taskmaster and Iron Patriot? Maybe someone would prefer the classic releases?

🤔 😉

That's okay if you only return it directly to Hasbro with a "You Owe Me" note.

Dark Avengers! The new Iron Patriot and Sentry really upgrade this team a lot, but it also emphasizes how I need a real Dark Ms. Marvel Moonstone and how Dakken and Ares could really use updated figures. This is such a fun team!

I’m not really a fan of that era of Avengers, but I gotta say they do look really good all together like that.

@akatsuki I would argue Dark Hawkeye needs a legit release, too. The old figure doesn’t match the Bullseye body and the new one is too bright to fit in, in my opinion. And I want a head sculpt with a crazed expression in the Hawkeye mask.

Yes, totally agree. You are right about that. Need a new Dark Hawkeye, too.

Awesome pic Akat!

Completely agree that a proper Sofen Ms. Marvel, and redone Daken, Ares, and BullsHawkeye would be great to get. I hope the inevitable rerelease of Iron Patriot has more metallic colors as well.

I started to say we also need a Noh-Varr in the proper costume matching his time on the team, but...the missing details are pretty minor. I can live if we never get a proper figure of that costume. But I'd certainly pick it up if made.

Agreed. The dark Hawkeye should be clearly Bullseye dressed as Hawkeye. Body type and facial expression, darker colors.

Also Dark Ms. Marvel, Dark Wolverine and Dark Spider-Man that isn't just a symbiote Spiderman figure, but I know that one is probably too subtle.

I'd really love if they looked a little realistic too, with seams and such, so I can sneak them into my MCU collection, heh heh

Hey guys, I’m trying to army build some Doombot heads, so I’ve got a few loose Taskmasters, Iron Patriots, and Dooms to share if anyone wants to skip getting the whole pack. Hit me up on IG @Thwiptster

Totally interested in a Taskmaster. Like I said on Instagram, I'll touch base Friday to see if you still have one available.

I've never been a fan of soft good capes.  I understand they're nice for certain poses but for something a little more static they just look flat.  Plus it messes up the consistency with my other figures.  With that said however, I think this new Doom has the slightest edge over the Super Skrull wave Doom with a little head swap.  Things I prefer this time around:  classic circle buckles/rope that holds cape, shorter tunic, and belt colors.  If I didn't need Taskmaster I could have lived without this set, but overall I think it's still a good addition to the collection.
