But which gender would a Cabal Loki be?

Loki showed up as both female and male through the time that the Cabal met.

Exactly why I asked. 😏

Do you think that these figures were gonna be the ones that they were gonna show this past weekend?

This may well be the 2nd 3 pack I buy this year. I don't have an Iron Patriot, great upgrade to Taskmaster and if I like this Dr. Doom enough I'll get rid of my other two.

Taskmaster is using the bow right-handedly but has a left handed quiver.

What makes it left-handed--the fact that it leans towards his left shoulder?  If that's the case then I don't see a full pic of the quiver in the Looper photos, but I assume it's the same one we've been getting for over a decade and that one can lean in whichever direction you want by just turning the quiver by the peg.

Ooh I'll pick this one up. I think I prefer the cloth cape on Doom, and I sold off my previous Iron Patriot because he was too small. Never got the previous classic taskmaster either so this is great.

My biggest holdup for replacing my current Taskmaster is that I’m pretty sure he was the last Legends figure I got at TRU. He was certainly one of the last. I distinctly remember the morning I went in there and found him on the shelf when that wave first hit.

I'm not a professional archer, but with the strap supporting the quiver as well, the arrows would be drawn with your left hand, with the bow held in the right. If he's holding the bow in his left hand, he can't also draw with that hand.

I know this is massively nitpicky, but it's one of those things that bothers me and would every time I looked at him on the shelf. I guess you can turn the quiver to be drawn with the right hand, but that would look bad to me as well because the chest strap wouldn't make sense.

EDIT: I looked at a Storm Shadow figure who also has the quiver on that side with his strap going the other way (so, left handed quiver with a strap for a right handed one), but what counters that are his scabbards are both for the right side so the strap is really supporting those. Maybe Taskmaster has a scabbard for his sword on the right side like that.

If Hasbro wants to start doing more cloth capes then they should take note of what one of their competitors is doing and get them wired. Wired softgoods are awesome - unwired ones are lame.

Set looks ok to me! Iron Patriot is the one I'm most looking forward to, but unfortunately looks like the least impressive figure. Taskmaster is a big upgrade. Doom not so much (of an upgrade, as the original figure is already great), but I'm glad they included the Doombot head!

I can go either way on cloth goods. Most of the time they look lame, but they allow way more range of motion in the limbs. Hasbro does a decent job when the cloth just needs to drape, like on Darth Vader. I like those capes a lot. I don't love their cloaks, or hoods worn up. Doom's still got a plastic hood, so I dig that. I have Mezco Doom, and I like the cape, but I don't love the positioning of the wire, or the lack of wire across the bottom seam. I just pose vanilla for lack of space, and a wire on the bottom would help with a natural looking drape. I don't think Hasbro will ever budget for wired capes. Third party capes tend to cost just as much as the figure that's gonna wear it.

I tend to agree, but I think he's referring to McFarlane having just released a $25 Batman figure with a wired cape.  That's the first wired cape I've ever seen at such a low price point, because as others noted usually wired capes cost around $25 just for the cape, making that Batman it comes with seem almost free to anyone who has bought wired capes before.

Will it inspire Hasbro to try wired capes themselves?  I sure hope so, but I mostly doubt it.

Looking closely at the photos, the new Cabal Doom has the classic mask head but the fuller hood from the “modern” head from the original release, which is AWESOME.

Here's hoping I can get Iron Patriot for cheap on eBay. I'm happy enough with the Doom and Tasky(s) I already have.
