6. Attuma
This is a great list, and I'd take every single figure here. But, I will be *that guy* and point out that this picture is of Tyrak (another Atlantean Avengers Adversary) and not Attuma. I'd absolutely take a figure of both, though!
Â
Thanks for pointing that out. The funny thing is the image is correct, and it's the character's name that I got wrong. It's actually Tyrak that I want as a figure. Avengers #172 is one of my favorite battle issues, and it was against Tyrak, (who I mistakingly remembered as being Attuma). So, I fixed it in my original post.
Also, I'm seeing Stingray on a lot of people's lists. While he's a cool looking character, there's no way Hasbro would ever be able to get is underarm wings to look like they do in the comics. They can barely get Falcon, Vulture and Black Bolt's underarm wings to look halfway decent, and they are much smaller than Stingray's. That's one of the reasons he didn't make my list. I'm afraid he'd just be a huge disappointment.

This is fair.  my compromise hope would be they essentially include two 'snap on' capes for him. One in a relaxed, arms down mode that would cheat a little and not cover the shoulders and limit shoulder movement and drape behind the shoulders. and then a second cape for an arms up 'flying' pose that would be a harder more static type material.  That way he could be displayed both ways - even if the transition from standing to action in play would be more awkward. Â
Â
I’d think for Stingray they’d have to do basically what they did for Banshee. They’d be soft goods that clip onto his arms, waist, and legs and are cut into the shape of the wings.Â
In my mind Avengers is such a broad category. I don't really associate M'Baku/Man Ape with the Avengers. He would top a Black Panther or villains list for me.
Can't remember if we were doing Cap, Iron Man and Thor versions of these lists so going with some that fit in those lines less.
1. Attuma (obviously)
2. Yellowjacket. (hank)
3. Yellowjacket (Rita)
4. Moonstone
5. FA Wonderman
6. Korvac (as #beamish pictured)
7. Mantis (as #beamish pictured)
8. Falcon (as #sdcomics pictured)
9. Blackout
10. Man Ape (as #sdcomics pictured)
Still others that belong here. Wizzer, Swordsman, Graviton, Dr Druid, Star Fox, more classic looking Squadron Supreme characters. Could certainly sneak many of my near misses on to Iron Man, Cap, Thor top 10s.
@puckface I think the association is he was one of the very first Masters of Evil in the Avengers in the silver age, plus the fact that Panther might struggle to really get enough supporting characters. Not that you couldn't get to 10 comic supporting characters but that you wouldn't be left with scores or left overs and variations so everyone's lists would look pretty similar. Same reason Attuma is here and not in a Submariner list.

If I made a list that was focused on post-Disassembled members only it would look a lot like this!

I figured you knew who it was! I'd honestly love to get a figure too. Is this the issue where he infiltrates the Avengers disguised as Triton? Seems like they could share some parts - though Tyrak does look a lot bigger than I normally picture Triton.

Yup! The FA Storm solution.
I'd actually prefer the relaxed cape cover his shoulders, articulation be damned. But that's just because I love love love this pose/picture.
Really hope they get the red right when they do him - that deep, metallic color on the white bodysuit will really pop! Redo Guardian with a proper paint job at the same time and you can use the same mix.

I was SO close to including Blackout on my list. Totally agree with your other picks and mentions as well- we need the classic Squadron Supreme-certainly the core members, even though I'd take every single costumed character (hero, villain or otherwise) in the Gruenwald series.Â

Â
I think Tyrak just stormed the shores of Hydrobase in this issue and was met by Black Knight and Druid initially. Man, the Stern/Buscema Avengers era is just the best, IMO.Â

Â
First Appearance is literally Avengers #62
Second Appearance Avengers #78
Third Appearance Avengers #79
4th Appearance West Coast Avengers #1
5th Appearance West Coast Avengers #2
Â
He didn't appear in an issue of a Black Panther comic book until 1998 (not even in Jungle Action) -Â heck - he showed up in the Thunderbolts before he showed up in a solo Black Panther book.
