Any love out there for ML versions of the Simonson Battle Armor Thor or the Spiky 'Pineapple' Thing ? We've had a few 80's figures already (Black Costume Spidey, Silver Centurion Iron Man, X-Factor Cyclops, USAgent, White Vision, Fixit/Grey Hulk) - but these two seem overlooked...
Yes to Simonson Thor for Asgard shelf. Kirby Thor for the Avengers shelf. No to pineapple Thing. Never liked that look. Would take a proper lumpy FA Thing.
Yes to Thor, no to Thing
I've been hoping for that Thor for years. It's easily my most wanted ML at this point. A nice Simonson-era Balder wouldn't hurt either.
But that Thing? I don't know. I think it would have to come in a two-pack with the Sharon Ventura she-thing ... and I'd have to find it at Ross for $9.99. That was just a bad time for the Fantastic Four — until Walt Simonson showed up!
Since we know they're always going to make them anyway, I'm open to whatever era or looks get made of the big players. I don't love the spiky Thing look, but I certainly couldn't turn it down if they made him. It'd be a bit of a puzzler though, considering the unique tooling he'd require.
Simonson Thor would be a definite yes. Love that look. Give me more Asgardians from that run to complement him - particularly Balder, Odin, and the Warriors Three.
I'll echo the sentiments for the Simonson-era armored Thor and any other Simonson-era Asgardians they'd care to make. Hel, at this point I'll just take any Asgardians I can get, period. But Balder especially has been criminally overlooked for FAR too long.
Zero desire for that Thing though. Always hated that look.

Yes to armored Thor and emphatic yes to spiky Thing and full-rock She-Thing.
Simonson armored Thor has been in my Top 10 Most Wanted for years, so he's a definite yes. Spiky Thing was a fun variation, and I was reading and enjoying that run of FF at the time so he's a yes as well. I do think armored Thor is more overlooked than spiky Thing. This look for Thor is well regarded, while Thing's spiky look has always been divisive at best.
Still would like to see a Kirby Thing as well.
Armored Thor is a definite yes. And I’d want more Asgardians in general. I’d love to get a figure of Balder as well.
That spiked look for Thing is cool, too. I’d get a figure of him.
Feels like spiky Thing would make a better statue. Those spikes are getting in the way of every point of articulation.

What super cracks me up about that Spiky Thing custom is how he's super spiky everywhere except under his shorts... Like I know FF costumes are made of unstable molecules - but do they have internal portals that send the spikes to another dimension? Are they constantly grinding down or eroding the spike somehow? Is his bikini area actually just devoid of spikes? Is there an aesthetician that specializes in spike waxing?
I can't make it make sense.
Yes for Thor and any Simonson era versions of his supporting cast.
I have little interest in that version of Thing, and question if it could move with all the spikes, or if it could be produced in a way that could meet safety standards.
