Was this version of Chameleon ever in the comics? I know some of the animated designs made it over, but I don't think Chameleon did.

I don't remember him ever having a consistent costume other than the white, featureless mask, and that makes sense given that his entire schtick is to make himself look like other people.  Even within Amazing Spider-Man #1 where he first appeared he wore different clothes throughout the issue with the white mask being the same, so I don't see that there's much from the comics to adhere to.  The mask is close enough for me to use him wherever.

Here's what he looked like in Amazing Spider-Man #1:

My opinion, after re-reading it a few years back, is that the Clone Saga is better than its reputation.  If you absolutely hate 90s Marvel, maybe you won't like it at all, but I feel like with it all behind us and knowing how it ends, it reads just fine.  Kaine will probably be the first ML figure I pay retail for in a few years.

Also, the only Chameleon figure I want at this point is one in the smoking jacket.

Chameleon (Marvel Comics) | Character Level Wiki | Fandom

And I'd like one with this for an alt head/hands, whatever version they do:

The Amazing Spider-Man #307: “The Thief Who Stole Himself” – The ...

There’s one guy here who really wanted that animated Chameleon. I hope they feel fulfilled.

I’m not super excited for any of these, but I’m happy to pick them up. There’s a place in my collection for all of them.

Not sure if you’re talking about me, but I’m definitely a fan of this release! Figure looks great. Only bummer is that they didn’t use it as an opportunity to add another character’s head in that hasn’t been done before.

I am also excited for a TAS Chameleon! He's been one of my top wants for years 🙂

Well these all look great.  Happy for those who want them.  But as a big classic Spidey fan, there is nothing here for me.  Maybe I'll pick up Kaine if I can find him in the wild on sale some day. Maybe...

I'm one who tapped out of Spider-Man with the Clone Saga, I don't know anything about Kane.  If anything I'd go for movie Lizard.

Also, great calls on a lot of these missing characters.  SWARM, MAN-WOLF, STEGRON, SPOT, CARDIAC, VERMIN.  For sure.  I'd like a MAN-SPIDER (preferably based on the Marvel Fanfare issue look, not the animated series) and a new SPIDER-HULK as well.  And I'd honestly take a SPIDERCIDE figure.  Spidey needs his own Clayface!  Sandman doesn't count, he doesn't have the range!

Capital letters that’s the trick?

SWARM

CARDIAC

STEGRON

I endorse these endorsements Hasbro.

Thwipp!

That sums up my feelings perfectly.

This wave is great for fans that want 'em, but for me it's money saved.

I always hated it because it seemed like an entirely implausible way to milk Spider-Man himself for more characters.

I thought the same way about Spider-Verse when I first heard about it, but hey, we've come to accept that now that the films have been so good, so I guess clones aren't much more of a stretch.

After a re-read, I found myself wishing that Ben had stuck around and they had just gone with two books, one focused on him, and one on Peter.  Besides, it's worse nowadays.  There are SO MANY spider-characters that no one stands out anymore, and the constant Spider-verse miniseries (I'm not talking the movies, those are good) are just eye-rolling.

Pretty amped for much fo this wave. Kaine looks great, I've wanted a modern articulation Agent Venom for a while, and Chameleon really deserves a unique figure. Got a soft spot for Francine so she's a must get. I'll admit I know very little about Spider-Man Unlimited but I'm an easy mark for Peter in a variant costume, like to my shame I'm such an easy mark.

Is it worth reading up on Spider-Boy? Rarely has a character's marketing appealed to me as little as he does. I don't know why. And I'm usually game for random spider-based characters.

Just Agent Venom & Chameleon for me.

Spider-Man Unlimited looks pretty nice though, so I'll likely pick him up if I see him in store.

Hate to break it to some people, but the 90's are classic/retro now...

The remaining 60/70/80's Spider-Man villains are all D-List at best, just like Rose & Tarantula from the last wave...which ended up at Ollie's.

I just don't see the team clamoring to tackle the likes of Vermin or Will O' The Wisp 😐

Fun reveals. The ones I know I want now are Chameleon, Agent Venom (much needed update), Kaine (looks awesome), and Electro (those electricity effects look great!).

I'd say Spider-Boy is worth a read. Slott has him aimed at a younger audience so if you're ready for that vibe his book is fun.

Just a guess, but I think Vermin MIGHT have a shot at getting a figure seeing how he was part of the highly rated "Kraven's Last Hunt" story

They all very much have a shot. In a line that's given us the Human Fly, Rock Python, and Spymaster it's more a question of when, not if.
