The wave looks great and I'll definitely pick up a few at discount, but along with Kaine I'd rather have the incorrectly rumored Princess Python, Hypno-Hustler and Slyde.

Also, are we ever gonna get another Spider-Man BAF wave?

Was this version of Chameleon ever in the comics? I know some of the animated designs made it over, but I don't think Chameleon did.

I don't think so. This one is pretty specific to the cartoon. The mask accessory can be donated to the old suited Chameleon though.

This wave LOOKS incredible together. What a nice variety of colors. Electro's new parts look great and I do enjoy her expression (really want to call her Electra). Spider-Boy is cool looking. The love on Kaine and Unlimited is apparent and appreciated, and makes these figures appealing even though I know nothing about the characters. Chameleon looks fun and as I sold off the very boring original figure, fills a hole. Agent Venom I will likely resell and keep the unmasked face. Quasar's getting an upgrade! 🙂

We are a Spidercide away from being able to create that old Toy Biz Maximum Clonage set (Jackal is in a different suit, and Ben would be a kitbash - but doable!)

I wonder if there was any truth to that Hypno Hustler/Princess Python/Slyde rumour. ‘Cos it would make a bitchin’ boxset if Hasbro feels like it. Chuck in a Spot too, if you like.

I'll join the chorus of saying this wave looks great and I'm probably buying all of it, but I wish there were some more classic characters in the lineup.

  • Kaine is definitely the star.
  • Agent Venom is a great update, but I have the incredible Amazing Yamaguchi figure (actually a KO, with the legit reissue preordered). He looks like a solid ML figure version though.
  • Chameleon is well executed. I've been resisting the urge to build a Spider-Man: TAS collection, but I love everything they've made. My will is weakening.
  • Spider-Man Unlimited, Spider-Boy, and Electro are all homework for me - not in a bad way. I like having a reason to read books or watch shows I've never gotten around to.

A fine but not the most exciting wave. Definitely would have appreciated a lesser tier pre-90s villain of some sort. This is more of an "okay, I'll get that" wave, lacking a "woohoo, I wanted that."

This was a pretty balanced wave -- three '90s figures and three more modern ones. I'm eh on the modern ones, but think the female Electro is a cool design.

I'm most excited about Kaine and Chameleon myself. Spider-Man Unlimited is technically '90s, but came out in my dead period for comics and general nerdom (nerddom?) when I was trying to be cool in middle school and high school.

I do agree that there needs to be an avenue for more classic Spidey villains. They've already done all the big ones, but there are still a lot of B-listers. I guess this multi-pack from 2022 hit four at once, but it's been a few years and we need some classic ones. I personally want to see Swarm and Carrion, but would love for the rumored wave to be happening. It would weird for it to just be outright made-up lie. I don't think that's happened in a while.

I expect to pre-order this whole wave. Spider-Boy is definitely my favorite, followed by female Electro. Spider-Man Unlimited is the one that I like the least, but will probably still get him.

Might get Agent Venom. I have a custom that's satisfactory. The lack of tendrils is an oversight.
Everything else is a hard pass.

Kaine being old enough to be considered retro is causing me deep, soul-crushing pain..!

I'm always asking for more gender diversity on the Spider-Man villains shelf. I have no connection to Max Dillon as a character, so Francine Frye might just become my main display Electro.

I bet Agent Venom will sell like hotcakes. It's hard to come up with a bigger slam dunk than "Special Forces Venom."

In for Kaine, and maybe Agent Venom. I might pick up Spider Boy or Unlimited Spidey if I find them in the wild, but neither are essential for me.

When do these go up for preorder?
