I mean...   all of those are worthy if not exactly inspired choices.    Kaine is long overdue, frankly.    Spider-Boy and Fem-lectro were definitely expected.    I know lots of people wanted a redo of Agent Venom from the decade old Walgreen's exclusive -  though the existing one worked fine for my display.     And jumpsuit Chameleon was certainly a big need in that animated collection.

Even so -  I wish there was one classic Bronze Age Spider-Man character in there to spice things up -  obviously Will O the Wisp is my top choice, but there are others... Swarm, Rocket Racer, Looter,  Madame Web.   Or even the more late 80's characters like Spot or early 90's like Cardiac.     Since it's a retro card wave there won't be a BAF so I can't even wish for a Stegron as the surprise...

At least we know there will be more Spider-Man waves to come so I can keep hoping some of those characters.

Kaine and Chameleon are sublime. I'll probably even buy Electro because her design is familiar but still groovy. This wave has something for all Spider-Man collectors from so many different era's, decades and mediums.

While technically true -  literally NOTHING from the first 30 years of Spider-Man -  everything is from the last three decades.    Kaine is the oldest character included and he debuted in 1994.

They all look really good, but the only must-have for me is Kaine, but I'll likely get all of them except Chameleon. Just don't need the cartoon version of him.

I really can't class that as a negative at all, if that's what you were inferring. It just shows the breadth of history Hasbro has to dig from. And like it or not, Kaine is now considered a retro character.

The passage of time exists, it's inevitable characters that had a debut in the 60's, 70's and 80's are going to diminish and be outnumbered by the next generation of Spider-verse.

I took off work just cause and partially to watch this Stream.  I'm glad I did, I think it was 2 Homeruns.  I will pre-order this wave next week and the X-Wave whenever it comes, so much great stuff.  Kaine is the clear winner, but the whole wave looks great even the 2 Spider-mans I am not familiar with.

And yet,  there is still a huge segment of the Marvel Legends collecting community who grew up reading those comics and want those figures.   Ignoring them entirely isn't a great business strategy.  I'm not suggesting they do an entire wave of characters from the 70's -  throw ONE character from that era into the mix so there is actually something for everyone.     Literally ignoring HALF of the character's history when coming up with the line ups isn't ideal.

Who's ignoring them entirely? Has Hasbro made a statement to the effect of we are never dipping our toes into these decades again?

I get that you may be an older collector and there are many niche characters that you grew up with that haven't been made yet, but they have to move with the times and accommodate for all. My favourite decades of X-Men span from the 60's to the early noughties, but we all have to cope with the facts times change and we're not going to get full or even majority waves of the characters or costumes we want.

On this very stream they literally announced a repurpose of a 70's era Spider-Man from a mostly forgotten live action IP, championed by Jesse Falcon himself.

This reminds me of Bolivar Trask's whole spiel about how the mutants have no idea how it feels to be left behind by evolution. It's just aging and how things go.

This wave was not off to a great start with the reveal of Spider-Boy, there are startlingly few characters I'd want less than him, but wow! The rest of it looks totally killer! Definitely in for that Agent Venom, hugely needed upgrade.

The rest look nice too, but less essential for me. I don't think Chameleon is the kind of character I need to double dip on, even if this looks like a technical upgrade. He's just gonna stand on the shelf, not the kind of character you pose dynamically. Maybe if I spot one in-person I'll impulse purchase it, but otherwise I dunno. Still, great for anyone who missed out on the first! I know it's not easy to get.

Kaine looks awesome, really shocked the veins are a raised element that's sculpted onto the body rather than being painted or loose attached pieces. I'm not even a big fan of this iteration of the character, think he got a lot better when he became Scarlet Spider, but this figure looks so killer I almost don't wanna pass up.

Francine Frye Electro is cool, she's a fun legacy character. Figure looks pretty solid too, really like the electricity effects. Those would be useful to have in general. Again, not essential, but maybe. Maybe.

I'm in for the wave. Sure, I'd rather have Rocket Racer or Wil o' the Wisp than another Agent Venom, but he does look good.

Kaine and Chameleon look great.  Spider-Boy needs butterflys.  Agent Venom is the low point for me, he looks like a kid in a halloween costume.

I mean... that's the thing.   Would I rather have a wave that included Will o' the Wisp, Spot, Cardiac, Swarm and Stegron?  100%    Will I still buy this entire wave?   Yes.    And hope that the next wave includes at least on of the characters from that list.

And just to show I'm not exclusively an old fogie -  I also want them to get to Overdrive please.    I also honestly wouldn't mind if the eventually did Panda-Mania and Hippo.   Those would be awesome adds to the Spidey villain shelf.
