Yeah, the original Ghost Rider/Aim figure are technically too tall. This new Ghost rider might not be quite as tall as ideal, but it doesn't appear to be too short. DAmazing had a few pictures beside Spider-Man and Daredevil and he looked acceptable.

My only issue is I kind of wish they went full on Javier Saltares with his head flames. They're kind of puny.

I'd like a redo of Johnny Blaze on a new body. Lighter blue, with an all red bike.

I just wish the Engine of Vengeance had funded. I would like to add more ghost riders to the shelf, please. I keep daydreaming of the one on a horse, the one on a mastodon, or the lady GR on a sport bike that would be easy reuse of the Black Widow bike, and then fun headcanon varieties like a medieval knight GR, Pirate GR, Samurai GR, etc.

@ibentmyman-thing yeah, I'm pretty disappointed they reused the same head flame.  I wouldn't have said no to a new skull sculpt, but at very least they should've given him a more fully engulfed flame sculpt.

I've had the Ramen Racer for a month now but haven't had a chance to open it (still getting moved into a new house). I'll definitely open it up when Danny gets here to pose together. But, from everything I've seen from reviews, it looks like a really excellent substitute for the official version - lacking the Reyes figure of course.

@h-bird I’m glad you were able to get one. I was not about to place a preorder for something like that from a company I had never heard of that was so flagrant about knocking off Disney’s IP, so I opted to wait until in-hand products were reaching customers. Of course, by then it had long since sold out and the prices became unconscionable, and I still wouldn’t have an official ML Robbie to go with it, let alone any of the tiers that would have sweetened the pot.

I hope I can get a chance to add him and the hell charger to my collection someday, but the whole experience has left me pretty frustrated.

Completely understand. I was extremely discouraged and frustrated by the Hellcharger failing, and I'm usually cautious about ordering from unknowns as well - I think the desperation for a second chance made me take the risk. At the end of the day, I still wish the official product had been made, and if it included all the tiers it would have been a better deal. I'm glad I picked up the Ramen Racer as a fallback, but I'll be first in line to buy an official Hellcharger if they ever revisit it. At the very least I expect Robbie will get a figure in the next few years.

I’m glad it worked out for you! The last time I did something similar was for a couple 1/12 Star Wars Tantive IV dioramas  from the Space Walls guy that I paid for in advance and then they never materialized. I can’t afford to take those kinds of risks despite how tempting they can be. At least now I know Ramen can deliver a product, so I am likely going in for a Punisher Van.

Bah that sucks, I didn't know those dio pieces never shipped! Real bummer, and it makes sense it would make you cautious.

I am excited for the Punisher van. Also the sewer diorama, though I haven't seen updates about that in a long while.

@thwiptster yeah I got ripped off by the space walls guy too.  I don't think it was ever his intention but when his brother left the company things fell apart and it seems like getting the official Star Wars license did more harm for the situation than good.

@justice Yup. I never even got the OG space walls, which I still regret. Those things should have been like printing money and I’m shocked no one has filled that void, including Hasbro themselves.

I am genuinely curious to see how this plays out.   If the online gossip is true and Ryan Gosling has indeed been signed to play the MCU's Ghost Rider  I can't imagine that would be anyone but Johnny Blaze.   If they are going to focus on Blaze as the Rider in the MCU I would imagine that both Ketch and Reyes would take a back seat -  at least initially -  so as not to dilute things.

I could be wrong,  but I'm wondering if one of the messages Disney/Marvel might have taken from the Marvels movie was that trying to lump together a bunch of characters that share a hero name/legacy early on might be too crowded or clumsy...   of course they might have just learned that too many women leads is bad for business, so IDK.

Anyway,  my point being that IF Johnny is once again the main Ghost Rider on film -  it will be pretty tempting for the comics to put him back front and center as the main Rider in the books - and have Robbie and Danny take a bit of a back seat.      If that happens I don't know if it dampens Hasbro's desire to push a figure out there.

Of course,  if all the design work has been done on the figure logic dictates that Hasbro will eventually find a way to push it out.   And,  if an MCU GR project is announced it would probably be the perfect time to pump out more Rider adjacent product.    So I do think it is more likely than not we eventually get him.   But I guess we'll see.

I hadn't heard those rumors before. I hope not.

Robbie would have been a really great fit for the Strange wave. That said, Hellverine's face could be a good stand-in for Robbie's helmet and I have an extra Longshot... halfway to the Hasbro official. :/

That sucks, sorry to hear that.  I recently took a similar risk with a set of Doctor Strange magic effects:

https://www.instagram.com/takaratony3000/

I really detest individuals who work on pre-paying for creation on demand, but that's what Takara Tony is doing.  I mulled it over for several months before deciding they look too good to pass up.  I suppose Can of Beams mostly does the same thing, but he almost always ships within a week or two so I've never worried about it.  There are a few reviews of Tony's effects on Youtube, and they mostly look excellent.  I paid him a month or two ago, and he shipped them a few days ago.  I ordered two sets in two different colors, and I'll post in the third-party effects thread when they arrive.

Tony also made a set of Iron Spider alternate legs that looked excellent that he has pics of a few months back on his Instagram page.  I wanted those, but since I waited a month or two before ordering he had discontinued making them by the time I pulled the trigger.

Just to be clear--as far as I can tell Takara Tony is totally honest and legit, I just don't like the idea of pre-paying for something before it has been created months in advance of the actual creation with your bad experience being an example of the exact thing that can happen.  It's too risky when the creator is an individual who could disappear at any time.

@enigmaticclarity

It seems to be that often these people start out legitimate and then get too popular, get in over their heads and things spiral out of control -  I've seen it happen multiple times with some talented 3rd party providers of custom parts.

The most famous for me was Alvis Underground.   I got a couple of fantastic custom heads and upgrade kits from him for some MOTU Classics  -  like three different orders I think -  and so I trusted him and sent him a much bigger order for some figures and he ghosted and I was out a couple hundred bucks.       I know there was another MOTU resin kit guy that did a really great Beast Lord head -  he delivered mine, but I know there were a bunch of people whose money he took and he never responded.

There are a bunch of stories like that where these people do good work,  word gets out,  they take on more than they can handle and then they don't end up delivering.    But they almost never set out to steal people's money  - things just fall apart on them,  and they've spent the money they collected and it ends up easier to dip out.

@panthercult yeah same thing happened to me with Alessandra Fuccarino from HeMan.org with Filmation Frosta and Teela heads for their MOTUC figures.  Lots of people got them from her but I paid for mine in 2019 and she kept stringing me along sending pictures of her progress until finally ghosting me.
