I too got the BBTS notification on Cable. He shall have to wait there since I already shipped my pol a little bit ago. Probably till next month.
Zabu does look awesome, but I am 90% certain they are gonna repack him somehow down the line. I truly doubt they will let the mold be a 1 and done. I don't have the money to buy a bunch of figures I don't want just to build him like I would 5 or so years ago unfortunately. The prices have changed so much.

Hey Hasbro - if people can't unload a figure for $10 on Ebay, there probably isn't enough demand to even make the character!
And I'm one of the ones who likes the design!
Stick a Malekith head on the Winter Thor body and it’s a nice easy improvement on a figure that was a meh pegwarmer.
I've had a moment to examine the rest of the figures in hand now and some things that stick out to me are:
- Ka-Zar needs to be repurposed as an improved Namor - he was always hurt by the lack of butterfly shoulders and the Reaper body being a bit too stocky for a swimmer.
- Ikaris is a great execution of a character I’ve no attachment to so will make interested fodder for a future custom.
- Wolfsbane is far too much a Feral figure retro-fitted to be Rahne
- the Red Widow cape is crap and so is her weapon but since I have no idea about the character from any source material I can rebuild something more interesting and make up any old backstory I like
- Zabu is great even without his final leg, and I’m foreseeing a fan channel box set at some point with a re-issue of him, Sauron, an exclusive Shanna and some other like an SL Wolverine or such
My taste for this wave seems to be very different than everybody else. I have them all in hand and I'd personally rank them from my favorite to least favorite as follows: Red Widow, Black Winter, Superior Iron Man, Ikaris, Wolfsbane, Ka-Zar, Zabu and then finally Cable. I love the look of Red Widow so much. She's by far and away my favorite of this wave. On the flip side this Cable is just far too plain for me, he's by far and away my least favorite of the wave.
@stephenwdavis Yeah, Red Widow is very cool. Great new character, and a fun addition to the modern Winter Guard.
Yeah my collection only has the rare modern character make the cut. Red Widow did.
Finally got around to opening Ka zar. He is.. fine? He looks nice. But his joints are all gummy as hell. He comes with trigger fingers? Ok...? And the forearm cut is annoying. I know why it's there. I don't like it anyway. They should've just made new forearms, it's not like they won't use them again. So yea. He's ok. But he could be better. And the gumminess sucks. I feel like I'm gonna break him every time I move his arms. Hopefully the inevitable box set rerelease fixes these problems.

I do love the body and he'd be great for Namor, but more than anything I want them to do a build like this with updated thoracic articulation and balljoint waist. Really ready for ML to adopt that modern standard before another 3-4 years of releases on outdated articulation!

I did a somewhat heavy wash on Wolfsbane. I'm not sure how much I like it though, cause I wanna use the old head. The new one... isn't great. And matching the colors would be hard if I were to redo it. Lemme know what you guys think. I also tried repainting her face but I didn't like the way it came out at all so I peeled the paint off.
I realize the lighting sucks. I can take better pics later if people wanna see it.
That color looks much better to me - I also vastly prefer that old head. Looks good!
I picked up Ka-Zar Saturday and man what a seriously great version of him. I have never really read any solo Ka-Zar stories, just gotten to know his character through X-Men and other hero's books. This ML makes me want to find some trades and read up on him which is what a great figure should. I want Ikaris too and I'm sure the same feeling will hit me. He looks great in package but I haven't gotten him yet.
