All of the consternation over the Batman 89 figure gone, like it never happened! Mine is still holding up okay though. I basically don’t touch it, but I was curious how the body would react to the sticky summer weather, but so far so good.
Love the One:12 line, and not trying to steer this thread into wishlist territory, but man could it use more Zatanna!
Anyone got the Mezco Mr. Freeze recently? How do you like it?
I was waiting years for this figure based on promo images but I´m quite disappointed how it turned out. The suit fits badly, the dome is cheap clear plastic and the figure just cant hold it's large freeze gun.
They put a lot of effort into the backpack but who´s displaying their figure that way?
I too would take a Zatanna, gladly. If they do a new female body for her.

I'm actually really happy with how Freeze turned out! It's a really cool, unique figure with great shelf presence: I generally prefer Mezco's more "classic", comic accurate designs, but I really like the choices they made in this case. I recently decided to sell off all but my personal favorite comic characters, and Freeze made the cut largely because the figure is just too cool to part with.
Totally agreed on the large gun though: he either needed hands specifically designed to hold it, or they needed to change the design of the trigger/handle. As it is, that gun is just a awesome-looking piece that's almost impossible to pose him with.
I decided to go back and grab Constantine. Much to my surprise, he's actually still available around retail price on eBay.
How did folks like him? I'd go back and look, but, well.
@tsi I like him, BUT his coat really restricts the range of motion in his arms. Some people think his head is too big, but that didn't really bother me. But it's a striking figure with lots of great accessories & effects pieces.
I've been fiddling with Constantine for a few days now. I believe he's my first Mezco figure since the plainclothes Logan from ~2019. I collected Mezco extensively for years before selling them off in favor of MAFEX. Constantine has all the hallmarks of a great Mezco figure and all the frustrations of a bad one.
I needed a Constantine to fill a hole in my collection, and seeing as I'm only displaying him with the 1000toys Hellboy, I probably could've opted for the McFarlane version, but I prefer 6" scale and the Mezco figure definitely scales better with Hellboy.
There's a lot to love here. The cigarettes, plethora of accessories, and distinct heads are wonderful. It actually took me days to figure out how I'd display him. I went with the smirking head with a cigarette dangling from his lips, the pentagram magic effect warding off enemies, and his opposite hand in his jacket pocket. There's a lot of love put in here that I won't even begin to appreciate. The lighter, tarot cards, and chainsaw are all incredibly cool. They'd each be the best accessory with any other figure. Mezco can mail it in at times with accessories, but it's clear that someone on their team loves Constantine.
On the other hand, the problems are a tale as old as One:12 Collective. As FBD mentioned, the jacket is too restrictive. Even getting his arm to chest level requires diligence. I wish they had come up with another solution here because I imagine 90% of Constantine fans would prefer to display him with the jacket on. It's almost to the point where I want to buy a more articulated figure in a suit body and add the Mezco head, jacket, and accessories. As someone who stepped away from the line to collect more articulated figures, I knew what I was getting into here, but I wish they struck the balance between collector's display piece and toy better.
I don't know why they didn't just re-use Gordon's coat for John Constantine. It fits betters and actually looks like the one he wore in Hellblazer.
Also, they're shipping out Robin now. Got mine through BBTS, so it'll probably be another week or two for me.
Some in-hand pictures of Robin on FB...he looks good until you stand him next to Batman, who he's as tall as. He looks like he's in a different scale because he's skinny and his head looks as big, if not bigger than Batmans, like a giant child.
I was just messing around with robin. he is shorter than destro. the tip of his nose is just below destro's chin. just seems like a teenager next to destro and bishop. what is he...like 16 or so now?
I don't care for any of the batman figures other than the supreme knight and the one that came with two face. don't have them out to compare. I realize robin goes with batman but I think they need to release a decent batman or two based on some comic looks.
I wouldn't say his heads are big but the hair is. if you want the hood up you almost have to put it in the hood before the neck peg. the hair is all pokey and makes it difficult to put in the hood while popping it on the neck.
My Robin came today. I'm kinda mixed on it.
- All the details on the tunic are printed on, giving it a very flat and cheap look.
- The heads are well sculpted, though I think they're noticeably more stylized than Mezco's usual head sculpts.
- I thought they were using the MCU Spider-Man body for him but the limbs seem much thinner than the MCU Spideys I have. This is the first time in a long while that I'm scared of snapping something on a Mezco figure.
- The cloak has elastic bands that the arms slot through, which helps eliminate the 'floaty' look some of their capes and coats have but it also makes it a pain to work with.
- The hood looks nice when its up but I can't seem to get it down all the way. A second cloak without the hood would've been great.
- The usual buffet of accessories is great. The bow in particular came out really nice, though a hand with a molded on arrow would've helped with posing a lot.
- He's (at the very most) only a half inch shorter than Ascending Knight and Sovereign Knight. So, if you were hoping for a height comparison like this then you'll probably be disappointed.
Just got my processing notice for Gotham by Gaslight Batman!
Yeah, got my charging soon notification for GbG Batman, too. Currently my last MDX.
