Couldnt see a thread for DC Mego figures but saw some new listings on BBTS for some new Mego 50th figures (no pictures as yet)
- Brainiac
- Bizarro
- Two-Face
- Nightwing
- Dr Fate
- Deadman
- Firestorm
- Red Tornado
That Dr Fate looks too cool.
Anyone know when the Big Lots exclusive figures will be in the store?
I regretted not ordering Firestorm, Dr Fate and Red Tornado, so I've been checking on them every day at BBTS. I lucked out today and must have gotten 1 of each from a cancelled order. Hopefully the wave ends up being available at more places.
I just read that Mego made 50th anniversary figures for Big Lots. I read some people saw them in September. I just checked my local Big Lots and I didn't see any. They only had about 2 aisles for toys. I did look around because I found the figures sold at Walmart in the electronics/collectors section instead of the toy aisles.
Superman looks like the Fleischer cartoons. Batman & Robin have removable masks and are supposed to look like the Batman TV show. Joker is also available & apparently is based off of the Batman TV show as well.
Happy hunting for those who are collecting.
I still haven't found Batman, Green Arrow, Penguin & Riddler. I may check online if I get impatient. I usually see Penguin & Riddler on amazon but Batman & Green Arrow are elusive.
Mego and 12 inch GiJoe were my favorite toy lines in my childhood. I have bought Star Trek Megoes but have not jumped down the DC rabbit hole as of yet. Now they are going to be doing Marvel. The Resistance is getting futile........
No surprise, distribution is extremely spotty for these. I’ve been hitting multiple Big Lots for weeks, even enlisting a District Manager, with no luck. Ended up getting a Batman from ebay. Don’t want to even think about how much time and gas I’ve wasted.
They really should stick to the 50th Anniversary boxes going forward (and when they start doing Marvel characters). The blister cards aren't that well designed. They should more intentionally mimic the retro style packaging.
Got the BL ‘66 Batman, and it’s a nice figure except for the 3D printed belt. It deserves better distribution than this. Of course, that’s pretty much true for every nuMego figure since Target quit stocking them. Can’t wait to not find the upcoming figures.
I live near Pittsburgh, PA and I found the figures at a Big Lots on the way to work. Joker was gone. I was able to get Batman, Robin & Superman. There were 2 Robin, 2 Superman & 3 Batman. I think there were 2 Joker. They were in a plain white display box.

Most of my Megos as a child came in boxes. The only ones I remember being carded (which came from the Kresge’s in our local mall) were the Super Gals and Star Trek Megos. I’ve always associated the card backs with the end of Mego’s Golden Age for some reason.
Can you explain why you associate the card backs with the end of Mego's Golden Age? Are there any particular factors or events that contributed to this perception?
Has anyone gotten the Two-Face or Ras Al Ghul figures? I just ordered them from BBTS, but waiting for a few more things to come in before I ship the Pile of Loot.
My nostalgia for these dates back to having the vintage 1970's Megos as a kid - Batman, Robin, Batgirl, Joker, Riddler, Penguin and Catwoman - all of which I have today (although some were replacements for my originals). I was tempted by the Figures Toy Company releases that were more Batman 66 based, but never pulled the trigger, as the classic Megos really were comic based.
A Mego Mr Freeze would be a nice addition, not sure if they are making more of these?
