Oh man, as soon as I saw the trailer for The Avengers: Age of Ultron started popping up (and being pulled down just as fast) I knew I had to see it. And along with making me giddy, it fueled my need for more action figures based on the movie.
Yeah, based on two minutes of footage I already need plastic versions of some movie characters. If you had told me a few years ago that I would be wishlisting movie versions of comic characters I would have laughed in your face. But after finally completing my first Avengers movie team and the Guardians of the Galaxy, and knowing more movies and tv properties are coming, I can’t help myself. Okay, okay, so I don’t have a decent 1:12 scale Mark VII Iron Man, but I can fudge in one of the many other Iron Mans I have. For now.
Anyway, like I said, trailer leak. The one I found was kind of small and grainy but the screengrabs give a good idea of what I need.
I’m going to need Captain America, of course. And we’re getting him along with Hulk and Iron Man, so we’re set there. Black Widow is back to her short hair so we may be able to make due with her current figure. I haven’t seen enough of cold weather Clint yet. It would be nice to get a sleeveless Thor though.
On to the newbies.
I’m going to need Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch. They may be in civilian clothes, but the red dress on Wanda is fitting. And Quicksilver’s blue and white is a huge callback to his comic costume.
Speed lines!
You knew I was going to say Hulkbuster Iron Man next, didn’t you?
We got a nice Hulkbuster back in the Toy Biz days but a new one that is more accessible and far cheaper to get now would be most welcome. Marvel Select would knock this out of the park. C’mon, it’s an Iron Man inside an Iron Man! It’s an Iron Iron Man!
Finally, Ultron. And drones. An army. I’ll buy little ones and big ones. Red eyes and blue eyes and eyes that light up. Probably one of the only action features I would tolerate these days. Light up eyes and mouth. You know you want it too.
Also, check out the Avengers logo on the Ultron tearing up the Iron Man armor.
Ultron disapproves of your inability to agree to light up eyes and mouth.
So of course, as soon as I post this, Marvel officially releases the hi-res trailer. Check it out!
