Medicom has released new pictures and info on their MAFEX Stormtrooper and Catwoman. Both are scheduled as coming May 2015 for about $45. The weird thing is they are both listed to be about 160mm, or 6.3 inches. I’m hoping the Stormtrooper actually comes a little shorter than that, even a little below 6 inches, just to put a Luke head on it and have it in scale. But that may be asking for too much.

The texture on the costume is a little more pronounced than the movie version, as well as the goggles sitting a little higher in the up position. Still a great companion piece to the MAFEX Batman.
Star Wars Stormtrooper MAFEX Action Figure
There is something a little off with the shoulders, especially evident in the close up picture. It almost look like a rod instead of a ball. In the rest of the pictures the shoulders seem to have been pushed forward to hide the joint. Still, it’s a Stormtrooper so I’ll have to give at least one a shot.
This last picture worries me though. The Stormtroopers look good but Darth Vader looks out of scale. He should be taller and his head looks small on his body. Hopefully this is some photoshop tomfoolery or some mismatched images. I’m looking forward to the different options for Vader and this and the Hasbro version isn’t looking as good as I had hoped. Maybe I’ll grab all of them and try to cobble something together.
