We wrap up our look at Orsogranito custom kits with the most elaborate one: The Gnoll Warrior! The Gnoll has had two different appearances in MOTU media, once in the mini-comic issue “The Secret Liquid of Life” and once in a UK Ladybird book titled Wings of Doom.
The Gnolls have a pretty different appearance in each story, with the Ladybird Gnoll more of a brown furry creature and the mini-comic Gnoll more of a green armored creature. Orsogranito decided to combine the two looks and add his own touches to create this unique warrior.
The kit consists of two hooved feet, a body-armor piece, shin guards, an axe, a shield, pony tail, tail, and a head sculpt.
Like the other kits, they can be purchased in a variety of ways with a full figure option, unpainted kit, a painted mini-kit with hooves and tail, and an unpainted mini-kit.
The armor is really cool and utilizes a bunch of the spiky Beast Man arm guards, but the nicest feature is that Orsogranito took the shield with the fang motif from the Wings of Doom Gnoll and worked it into the design motif of the armor. I also like the little skulls on the side of the armor.
The armor is like the typical snap-on type you see in MOTUC Palace Guards or Battle Armors, which allows for full ab articulation range.
The pony tail and regular tail plug into the head and armor securely.
You could glue them in, but they can still be articulated and work well just shoved into the sockets in the armor.
The shield is also interesting in that it has a Gnoll face motif on a classic-looking wooden shield.
The head sculpt resembles the more pig-like snout of the Wings of Doom Gnoll, and takes it even further to make it more boar-like with some deadly-looking tusks.
The design of the helm is quite nice with three prominent horns and a thick iron feel with sturdy looking rivets.
I got the painted full figure and the paint work is very well done.
Orsogranito put the kit on a Moss Man body painted brown, but I bet it could work on the hairy MOTUC bodies like Beast Man, Stratos, and Carnivus have.
I am impressed at how the Moss Man flocking actually works well for me as fur. It’s a unique look for sure.
Thanks to Orsogranito for sending these great kits along for review!
