Yup, it’s a Game of Thrones kind of day. And I’ll admit…I haven’t started watching the show. Yet. Veebs sent me the DVD sets, so I’m getting psyched up to start. Given that, I opted to pass on ordering during the super huge rush to order the figures today. First, I was at work, and some of us work old school, with no phone or computer to keep up with internet rumblings. So strike one, I was out of the running before it even started. And secondly, I wanted the true fans to get their fill first. I am just that kind of guy. And a liar. Because I’d push any one of you down if it came down to a battle to get the last set. I may not be into the show yet but I love me some great toys. You wanna fight about it? Step into the ring, it’s Happy Hour!
Continuing the Game of Thrones Legacy theme for today, check out some announcements and the differences in promo pics we’ve seen so far!
First off, go back and check out MattK’s Quick Pics. If those don’t sell you on this line, nothing will.
After I got home and saw that most all of the series was sold out on Barnes&Noble, with just little ol’ Daenerys Targaryen left, I started noticing differences between the promotional pics on B&N and the ones sent out by Funko that we posted here. Mainly with Daenerys and Jon Snow.
Not a huge difference here. The B&N pic shows three dragons, and it’s been confirmed that she only comes with one like the Funko pic.
I find this one much more interesting.
The B&N Jon Snow head is much more realistic. Almost looks like a different head sculpt but it may be just paint differences between production and prototype. Again, I think what we ended up with looks pretty much like the Funko promo pic.
Again, here’s Brian@Funko’s announcement for Series 2:
New Daenerys(mother of dragons outfit)
Khal Drago
Jamie Lannister
Robb Stark
Arya
Brienne
He also said to “expect a Comic Con exclusives.” Is the “s” a typo, or was the “a” added in error? Guess we’ll wait and see.
NECA revealed the head sculpt for their upcoming Rambo First Blood Part II!
Fantastic! I think a lot of people were antsy for this version more than the first one. You know, from First Blood. Not First Blood Part II. Glad they got smart and just called the third one Rambo III. And while I was quickly researching to make sure that it was indeed called Rambo III and not Third Blood, I found out there is a TV series in development and another Rambo movie. Crazy.
Speaking of NECA, they are offering Classic Video Game Appearance Robocop on their Ebay store today with free shipping!
Which coincidentally coincides with fireball13z’ review posted just today. Odd how that happened…
Check out the auction by clicking this underlined text.
And then there’s this…
Yeah, that’s a Marvel Legends style Toronto Mayor Rob Ford. You can see more pictures here.
Happy Hour’s over!
