Fwoosh Happy Hour- Iron Man Starboost Armor, 3A Transformers, and Ask DST!

And we’re back on track! How the winter weather treating everybody? I have to say, it’s colder than I can remember it ever being, at least during my adult life. I can’t say I recall windshield washer fluid freezing to the windshield before the wipers can push it out of the way. Saw several cars today that were having this problem. I giggled the first time then realized they were in the oncoming lane and couldn’t see. Eep! Now that we’re all staring at the warm and comforting glow of our internet viewer of choice, it’s Happy Hour!

I think this was shown a few days ago but Marvel put up official information about the Hot Toys Iron Man Mark XXXIX Starboost Armor!

The Starboost (Mark XXXIX) suit has stood out from the crowd since its introduction in Iron Man 3. Its cool space suit design with a mixture of white, gold, and black colors has helped it become a fan favorite among all the suits from the “House Party Protocol”.

It features white, gold, and black colored armor with an embossed pattern, two gold-colored face masks, LED light-up functions and figure stand with flexible pillar for dynamic posing.

It seems Ashley Wood has announced that 3A has the license to do Transformers!

Ashley Wood; artist and co-founder of threeA has recently sat down for a Q&A session to reveal upcoming plans for his company. During the session, he revealed that they have acquired license to manufacture replicas based on the Transformers Franchise in 2014.

This is awesome news since threeA is known to produce some really cool action figures. Of course this isn’t the first time threeA manufactured robots, they had some experience with toy robots based on Real Steel. However, threeA figures are a bit expensive; starting from $25 they can go up more than $1000.

Since threeA has hands-on experience with Movie Figures, there is a huge possibility that these 2014 Transformers Figures might be from Transformers: Age Of Extinction.

Q: With 3AA almost upon us, I would love to know what licensed figures will we see in 2014? You mentioned Marvel specifically and hinted other designers and artists. I know that 3AA doesn’t have written in stone plan, but better hint would be great! SGDM and MaK maybe?
A: Actually our plans are 90% original content, I see 3A’s strength as bringing original ideas to market, regarding licenses thought we have more Halo, Marvel, MGS, Valve universe and Transformers and not forgetting Micronauts. Thats more than enough! Naturally we have some surprises in these realms as well!

A lot of speculation going around that it will be figures for the next movie, but who knows. I think they will go over fairly well if they stick with the actual designs and not stray too far like their interpretations of Marvel characters.

3A Iron Man

In random Transformers news, I found these pics of a handmade sterling silver Ravage!

My day job is working with steel and aluminum but more in the industrial sense, nothing this cool. So I get a kick when I see metal being manipulated into something near and dear. Plus who didn’t love their diecast Transformers when we were kids? Not as fancy as silver but it still gives me warm fuzzies.

Finally, a new Ask DST went up on the Art Asylum site! Here’s some highlights:

I think for SURE we’d look at doing another run of Venom in 2014

I can say here – just one head for the Cap figure

We ARE doing a Spidey from ASM2, but we were not able to do an Electro – sorry.

Then our very own Fallen Angel asks about Spideys and symbiotes, surprise! And there is a Fwoosh mention, but in the sense that we hate Silver Surfer. But I’m glad Venom may get a re-release, I’m an idiot and didn’t buy him the first time. Still slapping myself silly over that decision.

You can read the whole thing right here!

And then there’s this…

My eyes don’t understand the Joker picture for some reason. I can see the others, but is the Joker’s arm a separate piece too? Okay, wait, after further inspection I don’t get how Spider-Man is casting a shadow too.

Happy Hour’s over!
