Hey Justice League Unlimited fans- Toy Guru and Matty have sent along an advanced copy of the upcoming www.mattycollector.com Shazam Family four pack for your perusal. I have to tell you this: it is one of the nicest JLU product offerings ever. Read on to get the scoop and see some pictures.
I know that the Gotham Criminals set was not the most popular choice for a lead-in to JLU on Matty Collector for the fans, but I have to tell you that this set certainly makes your wait worth it. All four of the figures are extremely well sculpted with lots of nice details (love the Captain Marvel and Black Adam capes). I have to admit though, even with Mary Marvel being one of my DC females, the Wizard Shazam is actually my favorite figure of the bunch, he is very detailed and is 100% new.
Captain Marvel has been a long time coming for JLU fans and I will tell you he was worth the wait. I really do love his head sculpt and I think it is one of the best the entire (and that is coming from a very casual collector of JLU). Of course this set is not completely without its flaws and is subject to some of the constant challenges that face JLU- it is always a balancing act, if you take my meaning. Also, just as a matter of personal preference, I would have preferred a yellow paint scheme over the gold deco, but that is just a personal quibble.
