Four Horsemen Studios: Mythic Legions: Wasteland Argemedes

My Mythic Legions: Wasteland Pre-order set arrived this week, so today we are going to take a look at the ogre-sized cyclops Argemedes!

Argemedes comes in the larger ogre box featuring some killer Nate Baertsch art and a little bio that explains that Arg here creates large weapons of war like Trebuchets and Ballistas. That makes me think building a weapon like this in foam would make a cool background piece.

Argemedes is based on the Kkurzog body with a new head, helmet and belt buckle.

The helmet has a ton of great detail and fits a little loosely on the head of the figure. I think it’s meant to lay higher on the head, but I kind of like the look of the helmet pulled down a little lower over the eyes.

The figure comes with an axe and several handle pieces. The pommel is removeable and the handle pieces can be swapped in to make a longer or shorter weapon.

The gauntlets can come off if you pop off the hands and the arms look pretty good without it.

The articulation is Mythic Legions standard with:

  • Swivel/hinge shoulder, elbows, hips, ankles, wrists, and knees
  • Ball and socket head and waist

He moves pretty well considering the bulk and I really love the movement you get out of the ball and socket waist. I’d like to see that in more figures.

The paint is a highlight on this guy. There is so much detail in the outfit and I love the different levels of shading on the body. The eyes also stand out in a great way with the bright orange gloss.

There is a cloth skirt that allows for full movement and I like the way that it adds another texture and level of detail to the figure.

Argemedes is a fantastic addition to the Mythic Legions line. He towers over regular figures and adds to the overall complete feel of the line. I love the design of the belts and straps, but would love to see some new ones added to the ogre sized figure. Argemedes is still available for purchase at BBTS.
