I really didn’t want to get into a new line. And I managed to avoid the Manga/Movie Realization line for a while. Not even a Star Wars Stormtrooper I received got me to buy more. It was cool, don’t get me wrong, but it worked as a one-off. Then Bandai had to go and drop a Deadpool in. CHEATERS!

But yeah, Deadpool. He’s just a character that works in any format. Hell, you expect him to how up in his own comics as something from a different era or fandom. And that’s not saying Bandai hasn’t done a fantastic job with this series already. I’ve been tempted. Hard. The “everything is armored and samurai looking” thing does bug me a bit but given the characters they are releasing, it’s getting more difficult to ignore. Plus who doesn’t love a good samurai?
The paints are amazing in most places, with just a little slop on some lines here and there. But I adore the addition of purple to the red and black color scheme. It doesn’t jump out at you, in fact it blends right in, making you think “Waaaaait, there’s something different here.” But as I mention in the video, my favorite addition is the green on the chest armor ties. Just a random, insignificant thing that catches my fancy.
I do have to say though, the design itself lends to some frustration. The shoulder and hip armors tend to pop off the ball joints if you get a little rough with the posing. You also have to pay them special attention before leaving the pose, making sure they aren’t flipped up or around in some awkward position. I don’t have the poppy offy jointy in the torso like the Stormtrooper, instead Wade likes to pop at the lower neck ball if you hyper-extend.
That’s all to say, don’t get rowdy with the play. Finesse this bad boy into position and then admire.
Now I gotta see about getting the Captain America, Iron MAn, and maybe stealth Spidey. And Darth Maul. And a shadow Stormtrooper. Maybe Vader? C-3PO for sure, and hopefully they release that Gamorrean Guard they’ve been teasing. Oh yeah, a Royal Guard too.
Damn it, Bandai.
