Tamashii Nations just revealed their S.H. Figuarts offerings for Avengers: Infinity War and holy……
They seem to be going all out this time around. All has been quiet on the SHF Marvel front for a while and this seems to be why. Some seem like just slightly different variations on previously released figures but that’s how it goes with the whole movie/action figure game. Alter slightly, sell it again.
Let’s go in order of release.
April: Dr. Strange $60
Strange seems to be all reuse with brighter colors. I really like the gloves. The big seller for me is that big magical portal though. Damn it.
April: Star-Lord $60
Again, all reuse here, which is why these are coming the earliest. The colors seem to be darker and the shirt is missing the logo. Same accessories too.
May: Iron Spider $70
Ah, there we go, new sculpts. Pretty much had to do that here, with Spidey getting the Stark upgrade. Again. Comes with web effects and eye options.
May: Captain America $60
I’ve also seen him referred to as Nomad. But here’s a new look for Steve, both costume and facial hair. THere may be some reuse in the shoulders, abs, and boots, but the rest is new. The weird thing here is he’s not listed with any accessories other than hands. It does say “optional parts” so maybe they are holding the shield back for some reason?
Also in May is a Marvel dedicated stand that has a box at the bottom to hold accessories. $19
June: Iron Man $70
Stark gets another upgrade and he’s packing some big weapons. I don’t buy all the Iron Mans so I don’t know if these effects are new or not, but they look nifty.
June: Thanos $83
This is the one that reaches out and grabs me. Geez, three faces for the Big Bad. I’m hoping Bandai keeps this one big and doesn’t shrink it down any, like we’ve seen with SHF in the past. Edit: Totally glossed over the size. 190 mm, or 7.5 inches. Seems appropriately tall.
July: Black Widow $60
Natasha in her disguise as a blonde. The costume is an all new sculpt and this time around we get a few looks for the face. We have neutral, angry, and …..slightly looking to the side. Okay, they tried.
And finally for the announced figures there is Black Panther in September for around $60. And he’s a Soul Web exclusive. A shame, I like the look of the more streamlined outfit and the alternate mask with eyes.
Bandai also teases more releases to go along with what’s already announced.
Hulkbuster and….is that Bucky? Finally?
