We’ve seen some hints at some Star Wars, we’ve seen a little Dragon Ball and other older things. I really didn’t expect an S.H. Figuarts of Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales though. Kinda caught me off-guard.
But in a good way. PotC is a guilty pleasure of mine. I don’t go out of my way to watch it but if it’s on, I sit and watch it. Much like Tombstone. Wait, can we get SHF of Tombstone? Please?
The movie is premiering as I type so there was probably some kind of embargo on this reveal. Doesn’t matter, we still love you Tamashii Nations.
The articulation scheme seems to work perfectly for Jack’s awkwardness. And given Bandai’s penchant for faces due to their print tech, the likeness looks fantastic. The figure comes with two face options and I’m happy to say both look useful. I’m leaning more towards the neutral face though, the wide-eye look is a bit freaky.
The good captain also comes with several hand options, a bottle of rum, the compass both opened and closed, a cutlass, and his signature hat.
S.H. Figuarts Jack Sparrow will go on sale May 29th for about $60 and is set to release in July. Whoa, only a two month wait? I’m hoping that’s right but we’ll be able to confirm that once pre-orders go up.
