Tamashii Nations World Tour: New S.H. Figuarts Darth Vader? And Various Other Ramblings

The Tamashii Nations World Tour just rolled into Osaka for two days only and they are pulling no punches. S.H Figuarts for Dragon Ball Z, Iron Man, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Star Wars. Lots we’ve seen before, but is that….is that a new Darth Vader?

First of all, let’s get through the other stuff. Here’s S.H. Figuarts Dragon Ball Z Tien, Yamcha, Shenron, Nappa, and Vegeta.

Tony Stark is looking sweet in front of the Hall of Armor, including the recently solicited Mark V.

Homecoming Spider-Man is still looking awesome, if not posed a little awkwardly.

It’s not a party with Star-Lord and Rocket Raccoon, both looking great. But maybe a little lonely? C’mon Bandai, don’t let us down with the rest of the team.

But the pic causing the most flutter is this one:

I missed the obvious thing right off the bat, so I’ll mention what I saw first.

C-3PO, while having some distance between him and Luke, looks to be a nice size. Without getting all scientific I’d say he looks to match Luke’s height and proportions pretty well. And that’s good enough for me, bring it on.

The next thing that jumped out at me is the Obi-Wan. Now, it’s a small pic, and the lighting is moody, but I’m thinking that the paint apps have been spruced up since the last time we saw this.

It at least seems to match the Luke in quality.

But then there’s the biggie, and it took me wandering the forums for a bit before I saw it. Is that a new Darth Vader? Again, the pic, to save you some scrolling:

And pics of the original Vader:

The one in the World Tour display is definitely taller. The cape is obviously different. And the overall proportions are larger than the Stormtroopers around him. It’s hard to tell. Hopefully with the show running another day we’ll see bigger and better pics. Until then we’re left to speculate. And really, that’s one of our favorite pastimes, right fellow collectors? Right!

You can hear me ramble about all of this in the latest Fwoosh Quickie:
