The sculpt is a little soft, the articulation a tad hindered, and it lacks some paint, but there is some charm to the 1:12 scale Wampa. I can’t help it.
I spent too long watching deleted Star Wars scenes the other night and the ones that caught my attention the most was The Empire Strikes Back footage with the Wampas running rampant in the rebel base on Hoth. So this popping up on Hong Kong eBay is well-timed. The mouth is kind of freaking me out but overall I think I’ll end up with this set too. Sure, the right arm is just a swivel to accommodate the removable arm feature, and it looks like Luke has the same missing wrists as Han from the Tauntaun set, but still. Beast. Creatures. Star Wars. I can’t pass it up.
