Hasbro PulseCon’21: Marvel Legends Reveals

  1. I have no idea who the first character is at all, but because it looks so similar in skin tone to the Drizzt figure that was released last year and I’ve really gotten into his books recently it only registers to me as my mind’s visualization of Zaknafein, Drizzt’s father and mentor, when he was turned into a spirit wraith. He has the red eyes that drow usually have and I could convince myself that the Spider-Man logo on his chest is just a Lolth (the drow Spider-queen god) brand that is required for Zin-carla.

And then Mythic Legions just went and put up another blue-skinned elvish figure for pre-order in their Poxxus wave. Am I using this to justify pre-ordering a figure of a character that I have no connection to at all because the only enemy I have to pose with Drizzt right now is the Gamorrean guards (read: Orcs)? Maybe…

  2. I keep waiting for the late 00s version of Jaime Madrox as well as maybe a young/older Layla Miller. Is that too much to hope for? Sheesh.

Also would love a proper GI JOE Classified Firefly that is NOT like the Target exclusive. How is Firefly meant to do all his work wearing that cumbersome bomb vest?? I really just want a 6inch version of Firefly in that Sneak Attack box set.

And let’s have 6inch versions of Low Light and Dusty from the 30th Anniversary round. And a Gen 1 version of Quick Kick.

And since I’m on a roll here, let’s go with the Greg Rucka / Checchetto version of The Punisher. I’m sick of the endless variations of only Frank’s classic costume. I didn’t fall in love with that one. I fell invested in the Rucka / Checchetto version. SAME DEAL for the Peter David / Ryan Sook version of Jaime Madrox and the rest of that era’s X-Factor.

  3. So did they say that they are re-releasing the Zemo figure that came out in the Abomination wave a few years ago or is there something different about that figure? I’m definitely interested either way. Is there an ETA?

  4. Popularity or relevance never seems to mean anything regarding character or costume selection.
If D’Spayre’s part of a Multiverse of Madness-timed wave, it may be because Mordo and/or Nightmare are in the film and getting figures, and Hasbro doesn’t tend to double up comic and MCU versions of characters in the same waves.

  5. and does that little tenticle mean either a new doctor octopus like the movie version or maybe maggot at last

  6. omg dyspare at long last doctor strange has another one of his rogues. plus love seeing the xmen animated series get some plastic loving espically the pic of cyclops and jean with wolverine and also love the packages looking like old tape boxes of the cartoon

  7. Great- they finally made a maggot figure – I am very surprised! I‘ve never thought that I ever see one !

And I’ve waiting for a new Iron man mark III – I like the Design with pointed “horns“ helmet!
But the new made upperbody is very disappointing for me – they doesn’t made the charactistic slats on the front and backparts of the shoulders. But why ?!?! The y forgot the most characteristic look on a new sculpted chestarmor ?!

  8. DANG it ! I just bought the Jubilee from the Caliban wave after finally tracking down one which didn’t cost me an arm and a leg !!! aaargh ! This one has more accessories and a cooler box !

  9. After watching a spectacular GI Joe panel I was so bummed at how utterly boring and bad the Marvel one was. The vast majority of the figures were nothing but repaints or retools and those that weren’t were relegated to 3D renders.

There wasn’t a single Spider-Man reveal. No Banshee. No Sleepwalker. Nothing.

The only figures I will definitely buy are 20th anniversary Cap and Baron Zemo. I’ve got the Scarlet Witch from the 3 pack. so I have no need for this repaint. Same with the vintage packing Vision. I have no interest in MCU stuff either, nor anything X-Men that isn’t related to the Claremont era through AoA.

Now the animated figures sound cool in concept, but the shading kind of ruins it for me, as such, I’m not sure I’m sold.

No idea why they spent 20 minutes interviewing that artist just to show off what looks to be an incomplete digital render of a figure that looks like Kain from Blood Omen. And then they did it again with the other dude for Vulcan and a half hour for the X-Men animated duo. I love the X-Men cartoon, but it did not need to be 30 minutes long. Or at least, they could have sprinkled some toy reveals throughout their interview the way they did during the GI Joe and Power Rangers panels.

The Iron Man 20th figure is weird to me because I don’t think I’ve ever seen him wear that costume, but to be honest, I’ve never paid attention to IM unless he was teamed up with a character I care about. I’ll have to check some of my Silver Age/Bronze Age comics to see if he wears the costume in those as he most definitely didn’t in the 90s.

Lastly, they didn’t say one god damn thing about the Sentinels, which royally pisses me off as I have yet to receive ANY of them while everyone else in the universe seems to be getting them. I’ve even emailed Pulse a couple of times without a respose on them. I want to know what the hold up is why people who ordered them after me have gotten them.

  10. “Alright everybody, we got this great new captain America, mostly the same as the old captain America except he costs $6 more this time and…..IT’S GONE!”

Well, my cynicism was misplaced. Don’t mind me, then.

  11. IS THAT A MAGGOT TEASE?!
    IS THAT A MAGGOT TEASE?!?!

also loving the Animated Jubilee. Need that.
