Mattel Creations: Street Sharks Return with Jawsome-ness Ahead

Mattel is bringing back one of their 1990s action figure lines with a dedicated following – Street Sharks! Three characters who never got to see plastic in the original line are coming to Mattel Creations.

Three concept characters will be available on August 27, 2021 for $75.00 each. Check it out – and hopefully this will just be the start of a Street Sharks revival!

Via Mattel Creations:

Before they became our favorite animated man-sharks from the ’90s, the Street Sharks started as sketches. Some of the sketches eventually morphed into the toothy crime fighters we know and love, and some never saw the light of day. Until now. Our designers dug through the archives to give three original concepts of Clambo, Karkass, and Ripster their time in the water. And the result is fin-tastic!

RIPSTER

Our lead shark, originally imagined as the lead jock and named “Ripley”, wears cleats, a helmet, and sunglasses. His weapon of choice? A football missile perfect for jawesome power passes.

KARKASS

Long before he became “piranhoid,” Karkass had evil in his gills. Featuring a piranha’s toothy grin and removable fish fists, this nemesis is casually dressed in sneakers and a track jacket.

CLAMBO

This half-man, half-mollusk is armed to the teeth and all villain. He features a camo shell, multiple blasters, and a biting sneer.

  1. Yeah. They’re SHARKS. Kids love sharks.

It just makes so much sense to do a MOTU Origins line of these guys, with the old looking sculpts but modern articulation.

  2. honestly, i think kids nowadays would actually love the street sharks. Its a novel idea in a toy isle devoid of any shock factor. Back then it was cool but it was lost among all the many other humanoid animal toys of the day.

  3. Man these would be awesome as a new super articulated line like MOTU Classics in Target and Walmart

  4. yeah the Clambo is pretty bad ass. the shark is a cool. the other guy…..not so much lol

  5. I cannot begin to fathom how they justify that $75 price tag. This isn’t my favorite franchise, but that clam is cool. Would happily be in for $25-35, but $75 is crazy!

  6. That…….has to be a typo……..$75 for the set…..ok not so far fetched. But EACH? Is this the same company that sells $12 skeletor and he man?

  7. totally would pick up another run of the originals for my son. he loves sharks and the vintage are so expensive.

  8. these are cool, but i’m not sure how they’re going to justify that price. i was going to snag a few for my kid if they were around $15. $75 seems laughable.
