Mezco Toyz One:12 Supreme Knight Batman is up for Pre-Order!

I don’t know if I’ve been this excited about a figure since One:12 began, with The Dark Knight Returns.

Truly, a monumental release from our friends at Mezco today. As of this writing, Supreme Knight is up and available for preorder at http://www.mezcotoyz.com . Friends of the Fwoosh http://www.bigbadtoystore.com are also up and running, and http://www.megalopolis.toys is sure to follow, probably by the time you read this.

The Knight trilogy is a character study, done in plastic, of the Batman saga as told by Mezco. Beginning two years ago with Ascending Knight- a young Bruce Wayne still learning his role and his limits, with an elaborate suit and a lot of weaponry. That was followed just this year, barely concluding with the Previews Exclusive, with Sovereign Knight- a self-assured warrior with a streamlined costume and cutting edge tech, grayed at the temples but at the top of his game.

And now we arrive at Supreme Knight. As any batfan will tell you, Batman doesn’t just harden with age; he hones into a brutal fighting edge. Nearing the last few years of his career, this is a Batman who has taken everything he can from decades of engineering, experience, and technique to keep his narrowing lead over his advancing years. But that makes this the most brutal Batman, one that might be more comfortable at this point beating his foes into the ground with those giant hands over using his massive arsenal.

Dark Knight Returns through a Mezco filter might be putting too simple a point on it, because an aged Batman has become such a part of the character lore it’s practically it’s own character, ripe for interpretation.

So the Batman comes equipped with a dozen batarangs, including a much nastier looking large one, a vicious folding dual blade, a shotgun that looks like it fell out of Halo (“Rubber bullets. Honest. “) or off a pirate ship, a grappling gun that combines elements of both previous versions, and the hands to weild them all.

For heads, there are three fantastic visages of the old man;one stern, one growling, and one with short cropped silver hair. These might be my favortie headsculpts yet.

And that’s on top of a suit styled like Spec ops Punisher, equal parts tech and armor. He will also ship with two capes, one with a posing wire– a peffect solution. Sometimes I need a cape for posing, other times i3need one for playing. And that no doubt will also lend itself to “suiting up” cave scenes.

Now all we have to do is wait for Spring.
