Bandai S.H. Figuarts Avengers: Infinity War Bucky Review

Bucky is one of the recent S.H. Figuarts releases from Bandai, representing the character as he appeared in Avengers: Infinity War. It’s a love hate with this one.

Bucky made his first appearance in Captain America, and then returned in Captain America: Winter Soldier and then Captain America: Civil War and then Avengers: Infinity War. A pretty big staple of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as well as the comics. The main difference is that Bucky was less of a kid sidekick to Captain America in the movies than he was in the comics. Both comics and movie versions met a tragic end during World War 2; and both had a beautiful revival as Winter Soldier.

Bandai turns in a really good sculpt on a pretty bland costume. This version of Bucky is not my favorite and I prefer the Winter Soldier costume. But the figure is an excellent representation of what we see on the big screen. The worst part of this figure is the head, Buck looks like nothing the actor Sebastian Stan and more like one of our prehistoric ancestors. I can’t tell if its just a bad scan or a bad pull but it looks off.

Bucky comes with the usual bevy of accessories, hands, faces a big ass gun and in this release the exploding surrounding thing. It could be the ground, a wall or whatever you want it to be. It’s a nice touch and will look great in a storage box.

I’m making this short and sweet, been a long day and I’m not terribly inspired but this figure. It’s a great figure, super solid and I know with time will grow on me like crazy. Is it worth it? If you are collecting S.H. Figuarts movie figures, then yes Bucky is a must have for your collection, if not skip it. It is a good figure but not one that I can suggest for the rainy day collection.
