Bandai has announced the next releases in their Figure-rise Dragon Ball model kit line and it’s Super Saiyan Trunks and Vegeta! Plus a little Figure-rise Mechanics Time Machine action…
From “Dragon Ball Z” comes a Figure-rise Standard kit of Super Saiyan Vegeta as he appeared during the Android Saga! Final Flash and Big Bang Attack effect parts are included, along with two expressions to choose from (standard and angry), optional hand parts, and a sticker sheet for details
I still need a model of the basic, original look for Vegeta. And Goku, for that matter. That’s why I skipped later versions like SS4. I understand why they are doing it, to milk the characters out before giving us the (to me anyway) most iconic looks.
From “Dragon Ball Z” comes a Figure-rise Standard kit of Super Saiyan Trunks as he appeared during the Android Saga! Masenko and Burning Attack effect parts are included, along with two expressions to choose from (standard and angry), Trunks’ sword, optional hand parts, and a sticker sheet for details. Parts are also included to display Trunks in his normal form!
Yet they turn around and give us Trunks in both Super Saiyan and normal forms. Because Trunks isn’t as high-profile and is less likely to get future releases, I’m guessing. Hopefully this means the line has a long life with lots of plans. Even though I don’t buy everything I’d still like to see that handful of characters that I need, being only a slight fan of the property.
Future Trunks’ Time Machine from “Dragon Ball Z” is now part of Bandai’s Figure-rise Mechanics model kit lineup! It’s about 30cm tall after assembly, and features a detailed instrument panel and a clear dome cover. Parts are molded in color. Figure-rise Standard Future Saiyan Trunks (not included) can be seated inside it too!
Okay, what sets this Mechanics release apart from the previous releases is that an actual figure model can pilot it, probably because of the size. And not mentioned in the description is the addition of a Cell husk.
Also available is a deluxe set that includes both Vegeta and Trunks with an addition of a clear stand of some kind. No pictures yet but the set costs about the same as if you had ordered the individual models. Not bad at all.
Both Vegeta and Trunks will run you about $20 each while the Time Machine costs about $54. The Deluxe set is priced at $40. All three kits are set to release in July.
