Mezco Toyz One:12 Collective Toy Fair Reveals Plus Accessories!

In case you missed it Mezco had a pre-Toy Fair reveal event last week and they absolutely killed it. Then they sent out promotional shots and those just ramped up the excitement. Now let’s take a look at all the accessories that come with each character!

Mezco Toyz’ One:12 Collective is getting a whole lot bigger in 2017. With three new DC characters, four new Marvel characters, and a handful more based off of cult classic films and television shows, this series is one of the most highly anticipated that we’ve ever released. Here you can find all the new One:12 Collective figures we presented at our press event along with their accessories and stats. Please note that many of these are “in progress” prototypes so things are not completely finished. It is the burden of getting things ready to show before they are ready to show. Mezco will regularly improve its products the best we can up until the very last moment (and sometimes at the risk of missing targeted dates). But we feel it is important to give the best we can. Sign up for our newsletter and follow our social media channels for the latest news on pre-order dates.

  1. First Appearance Batman without the Purple Gloves of Justice?! WRONG, BAD, RUINED FOREVER

(Real talk? The Purple Gloves of Justice are, like, my favorite Batman costume element. I love the Zero Year costume for that specific reason.)

  2. It couldn’t hurt to suggest it. Even if they just sold the same set of hands in purple as a store exclusive.

  3. Honestly, I would have loved if they also gave us the purple gloves to swap out with the black ones, but I’m fine without them.

  4. Yeah, those are seriously cool, but I’ve always liked soft goods/mixed media & have been dying for figures like this since the 5POA/MEGO eras. Buying Toybiz crap in the late 80’s early 90’s I daydreamed about what Mezco has now brought to my shelf. They’re not perfect, but they’re damned good.

I dig Mortal Kombat & Street Fighter, but am moving away from most video game collectibles, because I just have too many. Those may be exceptions, though, at least as far as Scorp/Sub-Zero go & if they do Chun Li. After that, for me at least, they’ll need to grab more licenses to pry my attention away from Mez. Too bad, Gears, Mass Effect, Titanfall, Destiny, & Assassin’s Creed are all at McFarlane, where every decade is the 1990’s.

I’d kill for Storm-level Mass Effect stuff.

  5. That belt, too. Very evocative of the early versions. I don’t miss the purple gloves one bit. LOL I can’t wait to see Batman “Prime” & I would looooove to see them tackle the earlier Arkham suits after getting the BVS Batman. I can’t stand those movies, but after seeing one out of the box, I couldn’t resist.

  6. This is definitely supposed to be a take on First Appearance Batman. The gloves may not be purple, but they’re definitely as short as First Appearance Batman’s, which are waaay shorter than the gloves of any other version of Batman. Plus, the cowl and Batsymbol are First Appearance Batman’s.

According to a video interview from Mezco’s pre-Toy Fair event, the 3 variants are going to be like Batman’s progression through his career. This one is the first one, representing a kind of Year One/First Appearance Batman who’s early in his career (thus the name “Batman: Ascending Knight”); the second one will be Batman in his prime, after he’s been fighting crime for a bit, and the third will be an older one similar to DKR/BvS.

  7. Nah, that ain’t First Appearance Batman. The cowl kinda has that look to it, but it lacks the Purple Gloves of Justice.

  8. Although I remember SOTA shamed Toybiz with their superior paint/accessories at a comparable price point but then went out of business.
Not that I think Storm Collectables will go bust, but it’ll be interesting to see if they can sustain such quality at that price.

Also, Mezco, enough with the sh*tty ankles and elbros. Unacceptable at this price range. I want that Joker but he can’t even reach his own face for posing.

  9. Exactly. A lot of us have been on the 1/6 scale fanwagon for years, too. You gotta’ retrain your brain to recognize how damned small these are. I’ve got Dredd, two DK Batmen, the three Trek figures, & Green Arrow & photos don’t do them justice at all.

  10. I’ve never bought a first appearance Bats before, but they really leaned into the Art Deco aesthetic. I kinda’ have to have it now.

I agree on the shots of Daredevil. After drooling over the Hot Toys version I’m still trying to train my brain to remember how small these are.

That being said, Captain Kirk always looked way off in the promo pics, even close to release & he looks fan-flipping-tastic in hand. Hell the back-of-the-box shots don’t do him justice.

I think Matty Murdock may surprise us, too.

  11. I did not expect to like that first appearance Batman nearly as much as I do. Kinda’ obsessed with it now…

  12. If you compare it to what you’d get from other high end 1/12 scale figures, it’s pretty reasonable. Build quality & accessories are better, too. Figuarts & MAFEX are a little cheaper, but less in terms of accessories. ThreeA’s stuff is great in this scale, but fewer licenses with them.

One Mezco figure costs about the same as three DCC or Hasbro figures, but they weather posing & “play” better, are far more versatile & just look better on the shelf to me. Mileage may vary, but I’d rather clear some space & go for quality over quantity.

Especially since high end 1/6 scale figures from Hot Toys, Enterbay, ThreeA/Zero are going for between $200 & $500 now. Too rich for my blood, & they’re a little fragile for my tastes.

  13. $70-$80 depending on the retailer. I’ve got 7 of them with 2 more on the way.

After getting Green Arrow & ordering Daredevil, my entire Legends & Icons collections are getting sold. Totally hooked on this line now.

  14. I love the Batman. Great take on the 1st appearance suit. Wolverine just needs the shorts to be a little shorter.

  15. Yeah, if they can shorten them a bit before production, it’d be nice, but I’m still gonna’ buy Wolverine. Brown jorts aren’t a deal breaker.

  16. Sure, maybe ten years ago, & with lower quality. ThreeA is the only other company doing mixed media in this scale, & their stuff isn’t any cheaper.

  17. I think more than any line (except maybe Figuarts with their face-printing) Mezco suffers from the power of modern cameras.
The tiny imperfections, the obvious thread in the fabric, it’s just nowhere near as obvious in hand than it is in these high-res photos. I’m on my fifth One:12 with Frankenstein and Dredd and they all look WAY better in person than in photos.

  18. IM, Darkseid, Netflix DD and Strange are all insta-buys for me. Batman and Wolverine are strong maybes. On the fence about WW. She just doesn’t look that much better to me than the Mafex one. The rest, fortunately for my wallet, are not lines I’m interested in (if Popeye wasn’t as much as the rest, I’d probably get him).

  19. They do in some cases, not all, but generally as someone who likes fashion/action dolls I don’t see myself playing dress up with most superheros characters which why I find the fabric parts useless, not to mention you can’t really fully dress up them anyway (the clothes are sewn without opening and there is no feet underneath the shoes). I think Darkseid really benefits from it, he looks intimidating and ridiculous at the same time:P. It’s quite funny to me, when I think of it, I would want him to be 12 Inch so I could play with him with my Barbies and Action Man and Dr X.

  20. These materials at this scale just don’t work me. They make the figures look a little cheap and VERY retro.

  21. I was on the fence about Mezco figures until I got The Punisher and Green Arrow this past weekend and now i’m hooked! Batman, Iron Man, Darkseid and Wolverine will be copped once they are released. They are worth the price.

  22. Well…Dr Strange was meant for this line, and I love what they did here. I’ll be passing on SH Figuarts in favor of this one now. Darkseid had me at hey…here’s darkseid…instant buy. Wonder Woman…I’m on the fence…she looks good…but will this be the best wonder woman ever? I doubt it…batman….instant wasn’t on board in the beginning, but like others it’s growing on me…Ash, evil dead is my favorite horror movie ever…instant buy! Dawn of the dead…I gotta see more…fly boy is a maybe…plaid shirt zombie right now is a no…iron man…omg….that thing kicks Major ass! Popeye is no…actually it’s hell no…sorry not my cup of tea…kinda like judge dredd…looks cool yeah…but doesn’t fit my collection

  23. I noticed that too. It definitely is. The figure on display had a HUGE head. I think the photoshopped image is a good sign, it might mean the proportions on the final product will be altered. Or it could just be good old fashioned false advertising!

  24. I keep hearing rumblings that Mezco is going to start upping the price and their figures will start at $100 a pop instead of $75. It would be a real shame, I’d have to stop at that point.

  25. I really really REALLY hope they rework the Netflix Daredevil head sculpt. The likeness isn’t there thanks to the puffy cheeks. It’s like they didn’t have rights to Charlie Cox’s likeness. I hope they slim up the cheeks and make him look less chubby. It still won’t look like him, but if they can’t afford a total reworked head sculpt at least tweak this one a bit. Pretty please?
I don’t know how early in development these are, but Wonder Woman could also use a bit of tweaking in the paintwork and maybe the sculpt. The likeness of the sculpt is a little iffy compared to the BvS Batman (which was amazing!) and I think if the paint made her look a bit more feminine she wouldn’t look so old. Those are the two that I’ll definitely buy if the likenesses are more accurate. Darkseid looks perfect! If he ends up looking like these promo shots, he’s going to be very hard to pass on!

  26. I have never purchased a Mezco figure like this before, does anyone have any idea how much that Popeye might cost? It looks great and is the figure that is making me take a serious look at this line.

  27. Okay, definite buys are Iron Man, Netflix Daredevil, and Batman (although, if one of the variants is a somewhat more traditional costume, I might spring for that instead). Probably buy is Popeye. Maybe buys are, in order from greatest want to least, Wolverine, Darkseid, Wonder Woman, and Doctor Strange.

  28. As I’ve had to explain to others before, the main reason they don’t do just straight-up normal, separate trunks anymore is because, with their Dark Knight Returns Batman, the trunks were apparently riding up, and possibly limiting forward movement of the leg. So, instead of just doing normal trunks, they’ve been either a) lengthening them into shorts (Wolverine, First Appearance Daredevil), or making them an integral part of the body suit (Superman). I think which option they do probably depends on how much they feel them being changed into shorts would change the overall appearance/color balance. I’d imagine that, for Superman, making them shorts was basically a no-go, as that would have looked REEAALLY weird, but for Wolvie and FA Daredevil, it didn’t mess things up too much; for the most part, it still looks fine.

  29. Wolverine and batman haven’t gotten any better–Wolverine is just a mess–but that’s a really good shot of Popeye’s face. I was thinking he’d be on the maybe list but I think he shot up to must-buy.

  30. I understand that Mezco takes some artistic liberties with this line, which I like, but the brown shorts just look off to me. But yes, I do prefer him in his…undies…, however I’m not crazy about how their classic Superman looks with his sewn-in underoos, so maybe there’s no hope for Wolverine in my eyes 😀

  31. Are you saying you prefer him in undies and spandex instead? I kinda like the shorts in design but they look too baggy in this shot

  32. Wonder Woman’s head looks better proportioned in this shot but it also looks photoshopped to me. Her head was way too big in those old promo shots. Will just have to wait and see.

  33. Popeye looks fucking gross here. It’s the stuff of nightmares.

    Courtesy,

    Your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man!

  34. Even though this particular costume is not to my taste [I only go for post Pentagon era armors] objectively this is one of the best 1:12 scale Iron Man figures ever made.

  35. I’m in for Darkseid and Iron Man for sure. Maybe Doc Strange and Wolverine…I just can’t reconcile those brown shorts…

  36. Doctor Strange and Batman seem like the standouts in terms of being worth the money, assuming they still fall under that $70-$85 range. Daredevil is a favorite however, and I would get that for the right price.
