Medicom: MAFEX Suicide Squad Joker Video and Quick Pics

Anyone who reads the Fwoosh front page with any regularity knows of the on-again, off-again affair with Medicom’s MAFEX line. Sometimes they are good, sometimes they are bad. Like, really good and really bad. But thankfully the Joker from Suicide Squad is another check in the good column. But it isn’t without it’s faults.

The paints are a little too….base colory. There is no extra paint work to accentuate the sculpt so some details are swallowed by the brightness of the whites or submerged in the shininess of the purples. Which is kind of a shame because it is a good likeness to Leto, the muscle definition is pretty nice, and the jacket is just full of texture.

But this is MAFEX, so a lack of paint is usually the least of our concerns but thankfully I had no QC issues whatsoever. The arms do pop out at the shoulders a little too easily but that’s to accommodate the straight jacket gimmick that is coming with the next Joker. My biggest gripe is that it didn’t come with bare arms. Since the shoulders do pop and you can slip the figure out of the jacket it seems like a no-brainer, especially with most of the trailers containing the “I’m not gonna kill ya” scene. That would have put it over the top for me.
