It looks like the Star Wars S.H. Figuarts Mace Windu is becoming more of a reality, with an info placard and center spot in a display full of repaints.
Not that repaints are bad, especially when justified. Tag Hobby posted the following picture from the Tamashii Showroom…
I don’t have the Figuarts Clone Trooper in hand yet so I can’t speak on it’s quality, but seeing the Clone Commander repaints makes me giddy. Yeah, I do have three of the four in Hasbro’s Black Series, but they just look better here. That’s a tough decision I’ll have to make later. We haven’t gotten blue yet so at least that one may be snatched as soon as pre-orders go up. I can’t help myself.
The droid repaints were also expected, just too easy to do. I can pass on the C-3PO, but not a new character like R4-P17, especially being a companion piece for Obi-Wan.
Then there is Mace Windu. We saw sneaky pictures of him from a recent show where no photographs were allowed, and he had a banner above the display so he seemed the next likely candidate. Seeing him again here with a placard just furthers that hope. He looks so sweet with the crossed arms. I may have to do the same when he makes to my shelf, whenever that may be.
Tag also posted another shot of the upcoming S.H. Figuarts Biker Scout with Speeder.
I’ve passed on it so far, being pretty happy with both the Black Series and model kit version. But who knows what the future will bring.
