Fwooshcast Special: Hasbro Marvel Team Interview at NYCC

Fwooshcast-Logo

Hey Fwooshers! Special episode here, wherein I get to chat with Hasbro’s Marvel team: Mike Breslin, Sr. Director, Dwight Stall, Sr. Design Manager, and Tony Colella, Sr. Model Artist.

They speak to your questions, including problems with softer grade plastic that can sneak into production, X-Men characters and where they fit into figure selection, missing movie figures, the possibility of Marvel TV figures, Angela, A-Bomb, Namor, and more.

You might be able to read into a few of the answers here, especially when they discuss the Angela figure that won the fan poll in San Diego. Before deciding where to slot her, they need to find out whether Marvel considers here more a “Asgard” or “Guardians” character. So, I think you could imply that both those families of characters are on the table. I’m told Namor is a single figure, retailer exclusive. Thus far, Walgreens has been the only retailer to use that execution, so it may be a safe assumption that’s where Subby is headed. Unless Hasbro has added a new retail partner. Also, when I mention that Fwooshers will be glad to see one of our “gals in green” (Rogue) finally getting attention, Dwight teases me that his “favorite color is green”. Green herring? I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

Thank you Mike, Dwight, and Tony for taking the time to speak with me. And thanks to Justin, Brandon, and the rest of the team at Hunter PR for arranging this sit-down for us.
