Oh man, another new character for the 6-inch Star Wars shelf!
Don’t get me wrong, I’m loving the look of the R2-D2 model kit, which drops next week, and while R5 is also a new character 3PO is just, you know, a new main character. He’s been rumored for Hasbro’s Black Series line but sorry, the model kits have taken over my interest. So far, with Vader and the Stormtrooper at least, the kits have trumped the Black Series in my eyes.
Looks so good! At 5.59 inches he should fit right in with my mixed collection. And that gold finish looks awards ceremony perfect.
It includes two faceplates, one clean and one damaged. Notice the dent on the left side. I don’t quite know how the damaged eye attachment works but it looks to just plug in. Either way, tiny parts!
Speaking of tiny parts, the comlink is going to be a nightmare to keep track of. The two sets of hands also don’t look much different, at least I can’t tell a huge difference.
So shiny. I can’t tell if this is sticker or tiny little separate pieces. It also says the mid-section is a soft material, I’m not sure what that means but I can’t see the wires and black being a sticker so hopefully it’s a molded piece with color.
If I’m reading it right, it mentions a body piece for the restraining bolt. It doesn’t look like it just plugs in, so is it a completely different chest piece? The pics also don’t show off a lot of articulation so I wonder what is going on in that department. We’ll find out soon enough though, this baby is set to release on April 24th! Oh man, so close yet so far away.
