The Big Hero 6 Deluxe Flying Baymax from Bandai is an impressive toy, given that they are working with a pretty smooth animated character. At 11 inches tall with an 18 inch wing span, you definitely notice that he’s on your shelf. And the articulation is no slouch either. The points of articulation are comparable to your standard larger BAF except for the hips that are just cuts. That along with the design hinders the range of movement a bit but you can still get him into some nice poses.
The action features don’t interfere with the playability of the figure at all. There are the wings that spring out into flight mode. There is a push activated chest device that springs out when you press it. A button on the torso activates lights and sounds. And then finally, when you place the magnetic Hiro on Baymax’s back it engages flight mode, where there is a constant flight sound when the figure is slightly horizontal. The flight sound alternates from ascending to descending depending on the angle you’re holding it. All in all, pretty damn nifty.
