Groot seems to be the breakout character from Guardians of the Galaxy, at least in figure form from what I can tell. His Marvel Legends Build-A-Figure parts are sought after and his Funko POP figure goes for more than the rest of the team by a longshot. And there have been a lot of customs on eBay of Groot in his potted plant form from the end of the movie. Me, I like the whole team, but there is no denying Groot’s popularity. So I thought I’d gather a bunch of the my favorite variations all together for easy reference to oooo and ahhh about. This is every Groot product out there, just ones that catch my fancy or my surprise.

First off is Marvel Legends figure we all should have in our collection by now. So sweet and captures the character perfectly.

A very nice custom alternate head has popped up on eBay and is selling like hotcakes.

Then of course there is the Hot Toys Groot. Expensive, yes, but damn if it isn’t perfect.

The Funko POP Groot is too cute for words.

The Funko Mystery Minis Groot is also cute, but there is a bit of menace mixed in. Scary adorable?

But the surprise that most of us had after seeing the movie is the lack of a dancing potted Groot. This just screams to be made in all formats. It could be the next Billy Bass! But fear not, it looks like companies are playing catch-up fairly quickly.

Quickly after the announcement of the Hot Toys Groot and Rocket set a potted Groot was added as a bonus. I don’t think it was actually sculpted at the time but it’s Hot Toys, no worries.

Funko jumped in fast and announced a POP Dancing Groot.

Customizers and eBay sellers jumped even faster than the companies. Quite a few have come and gone but here is a handful.

First off, let’s get this one out of the way. It sold for a whopping 99 cents and…..it was probably worth every penny.

Some versions are rough, but better. At least in the “not looking like a twig in a pot” department.
