The 6 inch scale Star Wars news just keeps coming! New pictures from the 2014 Tokyo Toy Show, this time from Hobby Search. When I first saw these were models I hesitated to look any further but upon further inspection they are articulated. This makes me happy. On the loose Vader you can see some of the rough articulation, how the legs just stop at the knee and the obvious ab crunch. A bit unpleasing to the eye. But this now brings the number of 6 inch scale Vader’s up to four in a short amount of time so there are options for him. The Stormtrooper’s articulation should be about the same but I could see getting a couple of these to add to the army building ranks and throw a little size difference into the mix.
What really has me excited here are the droids. I know a lot of people were disappointed with the Black Series R2, both with the size and the way the third leg was handled. Shush. Maybe this will be a viable replacement? And R5, what an out there choice for a first series but it makes sense with the parts reuse. Finally, C-3PO is looking sweet. Best of all, even with crude articulation, it either fits or doesn’t hamper the droids at all. Perfect!
No price or release date, but I’m keeping a close eye on these.
