Fwoosh Happy Hour- DC Collectibles Solicits, Select Sin City, and DST Updates!

The source of ire this week so far: Toys R Us. First, they put up the Marvel Legends All New X-men boxset up for preorder, $119. Which is high. Then they take the page down. Alright, okay. Then it was put back up with the price of $139. No. No way. Personally, I like the set, faults and all. And I would have begrudgingly bought it in store for $119. Maybe. I probably would have walked around the store with it for a while. Put it back. Grab it again. Call myself a sucker and pay for it, then be happy afterwards. But for $139? No thanks, I can buy some fodder and make my own. Or do without. $139 makes me not even want to hunt for it. Because on top of all that I’d have to stalk the local TRU and hope for a miracle to even find it. Yeah, I’m looking at you, Soundwave. Which was about the same price as this set, except he’s a big hunk of dedicated sculpting awesomeness with a lot of accessories. Argh. Happy thoughts, happy thought, Happy Hour!

DC Collectibles solicited some new action figures this week and they are some doozies!

What? Two complete teams in one fell swoop? Unheard of! You led me astray Mattel, it can be done!

I know Red Hood and the Outlaws isn’t everyone’s favorite comic, sometimes I don’t even like it myself. I don’t like the otherworldly magic crap. What I do like is the relationship between Arsenal, Red Hood, and Starfire. And I LOVE the first half of the first issue. I know that doesn’t say much for the series itself, but that first half would have been my preferred direction of the whole run so far. Clandestine, down and dirty, spy type stuff. And then Starfire can come in and throw some muscle when Roy and Jason get in it too deep.

Back on point, the figures look awesome. And remember, Roy has the first ever hat articulation, where you can his cap around backwards! Amazing! Great sculpts, decent amount of articulation, DCC is about to force me to start bumping DCUC figures off my DC shelves. Sad and exciting all at the same time.

Powergirl and Huntress both look amazing too. This is the Huntress costume I passed on the DCUC version for and I am not disappointed in missing it. And I know we’ve had a couple of Powergirls but this one looks, well, powerful.

Oh, and there’s also these guys…

Injustice_BMvsJKR.2pk

Joker seems decent, but man that Batman is bad. Not DCC’s fault.
