I saw a tweet this morning from MattyCollector announcing the variant cover to He-Man and the Masters of the Universe #1. Here’s the press release from DC:
DC Entertainment and Mattel have joined forces to bring fans an exclusive variant cover for HE-MAN AND THE MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE #1.
This limited edition variant cover, which features a dynamic image of MOTUC action figures in battle, is only available for purchase with a one-year subscription to the comic series for only $24.99 for 12 issues. Click here to order yours today!
HE-MAN AND THE MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE, written by Keith Giffen and illustrated by Pop Mhan, launches on April 17th
This looks really cool to me. I think I recognize the Castle Grayskull backdrop from some previous con displays. I love seeing MOTUC get some more exposure, even if it is limited to a super exclusive comic-book cover. Speaking of exclusive, how funny is it that the only way to get this cover is to subscribe to the book? He-Man stuff is all going subscription crazy! I was planning on buying all of these issues digitally, so I probably won’t get this. What do you guys think? Would an exclusive cover motivate you to subscribe to a comic?
