Matty dropped a holiday bombshell on us, just in time for Santy Claus! DCUC series 17 has been revealed! Take it away, Matty!
Well the rumors this time are true! Wave 17 for DCUC is coming soon and it is our first step into the Blackest Night!
While we do have more Blackest Night concepts in the wings, this wave should help whet fans appetite for all the colored Lantern goodness!
Wave 17 will consist of Orange Lantern Luthor, Yellow Lantern Scarecrow, White Lantern Hal Jordan (with Black Lantern Variant), Violet Lantern Wonder Woman, Blue Lantern Flash and Indigo Lantern Atom. Together they will create a Collect and Connect modern Anti-Monitor!
And to answer the inevitable question, we did look into Red Lantern Mera. The only way to do her right is with a 100% tool and for that cost we can do 4 other figures. So while she did not make the cut this time around, we do know fans want complete sets and we are committed to one day getting her out there!

This is a lazy quick cash in attempt by Mattel. The name of the line includes the word Classics in it. Catman and Phantom Stranger need their own figures before White Lantern Hal Jordan. What a waste of a wave these are nothing but custome fodder.
First, I will buy these. But, I am underwhelmed for the first time. Im glad I didn’t pre order the dc direct ones. I’ll have to rethink buying dc direct in the future. I understand this is a chance for mattel to get known Heroes and villians in the line, but as a collector I’m not that excited. Lastly, I want that huge ant-monitor I saw at was it comic con?!
BUT>>>>>>>>I do love the Anti-Monitor though and I will bet you bunches that both Hal’s will be key parts too! OH THAT’s JUST MEAN!

By pushing their arms close together! Now my beef is, DC said that the White and Black Lantern Hal Jordan was limited,and the ONLY way to get them was through the show. Well, I guess they aren’t not! What a lousy way to make a fast buck and use false advertising to do while they are at it!
I know most are chucking darts at a picture of ol’ Matty right now (as they secretly congratulate themselves for being right all along about Wave 17), but I think this Wave looks pretty great! My only complaint is that DCD and DCUC are now directly competing with one another as each has (for the first time) the same figures available at almost the same time. The thing I liked about GLC Waves 1 and 2 is that they mostly kept to characters that hadn’t already been done in DCD, but now that doesn’t appear to be the case. Not only (as a buyer) will I now have to choose which series I spend my money on, but find it utterly strange that obvious GLC characters are not being confined to the GLC sub line. Oh well, who among us can fathom the mysteries of Matty?

This is awful. Mostly repaints/retools of a storyline that’s been done for half a year now, despite “Brightest Day.”
Worst of all, this wave is a waste due to the existence of GL Classics…at least I’ll be saving money.
I’m liking that new torso artic on WW!
