This week’s featured custom is BISHART’s Masters of the Universe Classics style Lion-O.
A modern Thundercats line has been a holy grail for many nostalgic action figure fans for a while now. The Four Horsemen seem like a great fit for the property as they have done outstanding work updating Masters of the Universe in MOTUC and Superpowers with DCUC. The question becomes, though, what sculpting style/proportions would you choose for the line if the Horsemen made it?
My personal preference would be something more in line with DCUC which has slightly more realistic proportions than the MOTUC style, but BISHART makes a pretty good case MOTUC proportions with Lion-O here.
One of the things I really love about this figure is the beautiful hair sculpt. Lion-O has a funky do and BISART did a great job capturing the funk. The paint is silky smooth and all the costume and furry details merge nicely with the base figure. Click some of the pics above for a link to BISHART’s thread for more pics.
