It has been a whirlwind of First Looks this weekend and we are capping it off with a look at the new Toy Story 3 3/4 Buzz Lightyear exclusive figure. Check it out!
I LOVE Pixar flicks, I really do. I don’t have any kids but I am always excited to see the newest animated movies from Steve Jobs and John Lasseter, there has been great appeal for young and old in all of their cinematic offerings. Toy Story is a call back to their roots as the first real full length Pixar film, but it also speaks to the future as Toy Story 3 is currently in the works.
Featured here is one of that mythos’ primary stars – Buzz Lightyear! This is a very nice little figure with tons of articulation and playability. I must say, of all of the great stuff I have gotten for review this weekend, he has been posed and played with as much as anything. I really love how his helmet can move up and down and the sculpted expression on his face is classic Buzz.
The packaging is a lot of fun (though we should be expecting that from Mattel these days) and while it doesn’t have a bunch of lights and sounds like the Wonder Twins’, it still captures the essence of the figure very well. Who hasn’t thought about how their toys come alive and play while you aren’t around. Don’t lie. It’s okay, I know you have!
